A beautiful Mediterranean island that is described for less than four hours from the UK as the ideal exchange for a break in the Bahamas.
Experts at EasyJet vacations Djerba suggested, an island off the coast of TunisiaAs the perfect alternative to a Caribbean break.
Djerba was described by the Greek poet Homer as the ‘land of the Lotus Eaters’ because it was so tempting that travelers who visited would find it difficult to leave.
Tourists can relax on Sidi Mahrez Beach, a coast -colored coast with crystal clear water, white sand and palm trees.
Away from the beach, visitors can explore the most important city of the island, Houmt Souk. The city is best known for its traditional souk market where tourists can browse through handicrafts and local products.
Djerbahood is one of the best destinations on the island. The white -washed buildings of the quirky neighborhood are decorated with street art by artists from all over the world.
Although Djerba is hot all year round, the temperatures can rise to 35 degrees in August.
Direct flights are available from London and Manchester, while British do not have to worry about Jetlag, because there is no time difference with the UK in the summer.

According to EasyJet celebrations, about two in five Britons are going on a holiday this year.
Matt Callaghan, Chief Operating Officer at EasyJet Holidays, says: ‘As a nation we like to travel abroad and our research shows that many British would like to try something new this summer.
“In fact, 63 percent said they would book a vacation for a lesser -known destination if more information was available – emphasizing a real appetite for something a little different.”
The airline proposes to exchange a trip to Marbella with a holiday to the Spain Costa de la Luz.
It may not be as well known as the Costa del Sol, but the Costa de la Luz has incredibly beautiful golden beaches with less crowds than more tourist hotspots.
EasyJet also recommends changing Florence in Italy for Bilbao in Spain. Culture vultures can remove the hours in Bilbao’s Incredible Guggenheim Art Gallery.
In the meantime, Venice could be exchanged for Ljubljana, the beautiful capital of Slovenia. Ljubliana is known for its river courts and green spaces.
And when the crowd of Cornwall is a top, the airline recommends traveling to Zadar in Croatia instead.
