The top 10 accidents at work over Christmas – from falling asleep to flirting

THE most common mishaps at a work Christmas party include oversharing personal information, falling asleep – and flirting with someone off limits.

Other festive failures highlighted by the poll of 2,000 employees include questionable dancing, spilling food or drinks yourself and using karaoke.

Such incidents have led to 24 percent experiencing feelings of anxiety after a party, leaving a quarter unwilling to return to the office the next day.

Moreover, it appears from the research commissioned by IRN-BRUResearch shows that 15 percent have even admitted to calling in sick to avoid their colleagues.

Following the findings, the brand has unveiled a festive truck in select cities that will deliver ice-cold drinks to those suffering from post-party hangovers.

It will tour Edinburgh (12), Glasgow (13), Manchester (18) and London (19) – when they text 07598 402 867 to reveal their party’s regrets.

Spokesman Kenny Nicholson said: “We all know that dreaded post-Christmas feeling, but we’re here to help.

‘It’s one of the biggest nights of the year for the office, but no one wants to feel like an idiot – or as the Scots would say, ‘fanny’ – the next morning.

“That’s why this Christmas we’re creating a festive truck that delivers the ultimate boost when they need it most.”

The research, conducted via OnePoll.comeven though 63 percent usually look forward to their Christmas party.

About 34 percent hate the thought of being hungover at work the next day.

And while 40 percent feel excited about what the evening has in store, 38 percent don’t like being reminded of what they did in the following days.

It also turned out that 46 percent are worried because they did something stupid the night before.

And 45 percent worry about any awkwardness between them and their colleagues.
