Forget the bird’s-eye view: see these incredible views from the cockpit of a jumbo jet instead.
They were taken by Dutch 747-400 captain Christiaan Van Heijst, who has rightly built a reputation for his breathtaking cockpit photos.
His aerial photographs have won him several awards and he has 147,000 followers on Instagram.
Christiaan said: ‘When I got my first job as a pilot in 2004, I flew turboprops around Africa and Afghanistanand I was very aware that I was seeing unique things and sights, so I felt a strong motivation to capture them all.
‘I started out taking pictures with a simple camera and as my flying career progressed, so did my photography.’
