ExpressVPN has unveiled a new theme function for its mobile apps to give users more flexibility in what the interface looks and feels.
Especially one of the Best VPN Providers on the market have finally also brought full support for the “long -awaited” dark mode for iOS devices.
The update, which follows the May renewal of ExpressVPN’s mobile appsreflects a subtle shift in how VPN providers approach the design -go beyond pure function to meet the expectations of users about comfort and adjustment, without jeopardizing the core privacy experience.
More than just cosmetic
Dark mode Has been a consistent request with the mobile users of ExpressVPN and offers a more comfortable viewing experience and potential battery savings for phones with OLED screens.
The company says it wanted to take the time to roll this out on platforms, so that a seamless visual experience is guaranteed that does not endanger the usability.
For iOS users, the introduction of the dark mode marks a remarkable milestone, in which a function gorge was closed compared to Android.
You can now find a dark mode under the new Twilight mode in the Appearance tab within the account settings.
Beyond Twilight, the new Themes Interface also contains sandy, midnight, air and system standard modes. Just like with Dark mode, you can choose your favorite by going to the Appearance tab in the account settings of your mobile app and adjusting your app.
Despite a small change, the adjustment of the interface is there, especially for apps such as Virtual Private Networks (VPN) that are opened several times a day.
Respond to this point, the Chief Information Officer of ExpressVPN, Shay Peretz Said: “Security and style can – and have to – go hand in hand. We continue to work for both, with privacy that remains our top priority.”
As mentioned earlier, the introduction of themes follows the makeover of the Mobile Apps from ExpressVPN, which contained improvements such as a brand new speed test tool, design and usability upgrades, a server relocation card and more.
What this means for ExpressVPN users
The rollout may not be in the traditional sense, but it underlines a subtle shift: even among security -oriented apps, user experience is no longer secondary.
With VPN use that becomes more mainstream, especially on mobile, helping updates such as themes to bridge the gap between function and form.
Whether you change servers, check your connection whether the app runs in the background, makes a comfortable, adjustable interface that daily interactions more flexible. And for users who have waited for a dark mode for iOS, the wait is finally over.
