These 5 New Spritzes Are ‘Summertime in a Glass’ and Taste Even Better Than Aperol
Aperol Spritz has been a staple of our summer diet for a few years now, but it’s time to switch things up.
Join the alternative Aperol Spritz craze. You’ve probably seen them on TikTok, but here are our five favorites.
For a bitter, botanical flavour, a brand new gin has been launched that is sure to please Aperol fans. Or why not swap the orange for lemons and go for a whole new colour scheme?
And if you’ve got some Pimm’s in your drinks cabinet, we’ve got the perfect spritz for you.
There’s even a new pink spritz on the market, which is a little spicier than the standard pink bubbles.
There is a spritz for everyone. Which one will you try next time?
The Limoncello Spritz
Google searches for “limoncello spritz recipe” have increased by over 50% in the last three months. So much so that you can now find it on the menu of many bars and restaurants, including London’s best Italian restaurant, San Carlo.
Francesco Putignano, Group Bar Development Manager at San Carlo, says: “This cocktail is fizzy and reminiscent of Italy’s southern coast. It is sweeter than an Aperol Spritz, as Limoncello is made with vodka, lemon peel and sugar.”
To make your own, fill a wine glass with ice, pour over 50ml limoncello, top up with 60ml prosecco and 30ml sparkling water, stir and garnish with a sprig of thyme.
Italian Riviera vibes coming your way!
The Gin Spritz
Sainsbury’s new Tanqueray Paradiso, £27, brings a carnival atmosphere to summer, thanks to its blend of Brazilian guava, lemongrass and, of course, the brand’s London Dry gin.
According to fans, “it captures the taste of sunny climes without having to get on a plane.”
Add 50ml of the drink to a glass, along with 10ml lemon juice and 5ml sugar syrup. Top up with ice and slowly add 90ml prosecco and 40ml sparkling water. Stir and garnish with a long lemon curl.
Summer in a glass!
The Pimm’s Spritz
You’ve probably heard of Pimm’s, but you’ve probably never had it as a spritz.
This quintessentially British drink is deliciously refreshing and spritzy. Mix over ice with 50ml Pimm’s No.1, 2 teaspoons strawberry jam, 4-5 basil leaves, juice of half a lemon, sparkling water and garnish with fresh strawberries.
It looks beautifully fresh and summery!
The Martini Spritz
white lotus actress Simona Tabasco is already a huge fan of this retro Italian spritz – and who can blame her?
There’s even a spray named after her!
For the Martini Simona Spritz, mix 50ml Martini Bianco, 50ml prosecco, 50ml sparkling water and a dash of chilli. Add lots of ice and garnish with fresh mint and chilli.
It’s a guaranteed way to spice up your summer.
The Vodka Spritz
If you’re a rosé wine lover, this is the spritz for you.
It features the UK’s first luxury blush vodka – Rozel Rose Vodka£26 – Inspired by the raspberry and white peach fruit of Côtes de Provence rosé wine.
