Popsockets is finally ready for your vertical close-up. This week unveiled, the new Magsafe Kick-Out Grip & Stand finally makes it possible to use a PopSocket as a standard for an iPhone in vertical mode. That’s right, all your Tiktokers, Popsockets have just become your hands -free film friend.
For years I wore popsockets on the back of my Best iPhones (I even made one with a design by one of my children). I have never stuck the reusable PopSocket glue directly on the back of my phone and instead I always placed a thin, transparent plastic cupboard over the telephone chassis and the pop-out grabbed it.
Whenever Apple entered WizardIt was no longer logical for me to cover the load magnet. I could do it, but for wireless charging I had to pull the phone out of the housing. So I switched to one Magsafe-friendly housing and attachable position of Speck That included a fold-out base for you guessed the Al-Hands-Free vertical video recordings.
But now I may not need the dot (which is unfortunately susceptible to breakage; I have completed three stands). The new PopSockets Kick-Out Grip & Stand looks like a traditional pop socket, but instead of a small glue-covered base, the pop-out grip is attached to a larger, round, magsafe-ready base.
Once attached to the back of an iPhone 16 Or an iPhone 16 Magsafe cover, the base has a hinged housing, so that you can tilt the popscocket grip from the phone, where it becomes a standard. You can rotate the base to make a standard for horizontal or vertical positioning of videos. In the photos and videos of PopSockets, the Kick-Routaard seems to be perfectly reaching the table, making the phone a corner of almost 90 degrees.
This looks like a handy little engineering of popsockets, because the hinge has a full motion range, which means that you can set your iPhone in almost every corner.
You could use the kick-out grip & stand without a case and attach it directly to the back of your iPhone, but POPSockets also sell a accompanying set of Magsafe cases for the iPhone 16 line (no other iPhone line-ups are supported). Just like the kick-out, there is any case for $ 40. There is currently no international prices available.
Kick-out and stand is not the first magsaf-friendly design of popsockets, but it is the first to act as a versatile stand. $ 40 may seem to pay a lot for an iPhone grip, but the possibility of filming hands-free in both mode is difficult to quantify.
I have done a lot of tap-unboxings with the help of my dot stand in vertical mode, and when a tripod was not available, I stut it on tables to get a full shot.
One thing that is not clear is whether the PopSocket -heads can be exchanged for, for example, seasonal grip heads, as you could do with previous Popsockets -Grip. In my house my wife likes to switch between a spring and a winter -friendly head, which is actually a disc -shaped snow globe.
The Magsafe Kick-Out Grip & Stand comes in six material styles and colors, including aluminum Raidal silver (or purple), black, latte, putty and twilight.
