This cheap portable DAB radio is super cute and also shower resistant
I live in a house full of speakers, but there are some places they just can’t go: the steam from my shower would destroy them, and the mess I make cooking curries has left some pretty hideous patterns on my light-colored HomePods mini. So it’s nice to see Majority come to the rescue with a portable audio player you can splash with the liquids of your choice.
The new Majority Eversden is a fun and very affordable DAB+ radio (and one that will definitely make it into our best DAB radios buying guide, as long as the sound is good). It also has a Bluetooth speaker (so it would definitely be a novelty in our best Bluetooth speakers round-up) and an FM radio with IPX5 water resistance.
That means it can withstand not just the occasional splash, but real jets of water, so you can hang it in the shower for your morning sing-a-long. And there’s no fabric grille to get messy, so it’s a great option for the kitchen, too.
Majority Eversden DAB+ radio: price, specifications and availability
In terms of specs, you’re looking at Bluetooth 5.0 with up to 15 hours of battery life, DAB/DAB+ reception from 174-240MHz, and FM reception from 87.5 to 108MHz. There’s a dual alarm and a sleep timer, as well as a headphone jack for late-night listening. Dimensions are 5.3L x 13.8W x 15.9Hcm; that small size means there’s only room for a mono speaker.
As with other Majority products (see our recent Majority MP3 player review for a great review) there is a generous three-year warranty period instead of the usual one year. In addition, Majority contributes to the Majority Forest tree planting program with every product purchased.
The Majority Eversden is available now in the UK and Europe priced at £59.95 / €54.95. At the time of writing Amazon UK is also offering a 10% off coupon. Unfortunately, the Eversden isn’t currently available in the US or Australia, but if that price ever makes it to those regions, it would be around $76 or AU$116, plus or minus a few bucks.
