This ‘groundbreaking’ AI camera for kids aims to keep your little ones safe and creative
A tech-focused kids brand has launched a new camera designed for kids aged 5 to 12, the myFirst Camera 50. Singapore-based myFirst is touting its latest camera as a “game-changing device, with AI-enabled photo and video editing ‘ that intelligently manages and enhances your creations, adding personal touches such as stickers, drawings and voice notes.
myFirst Camera 50 can recognize facial expressions, landscapes and colors and then use these elements to create stories with minimal effort. It is equipped with a 20 MP rear camera and a 16 MP selfie camera, with wide-angle and macro lenses, allowing you to capture both wide scenes and intricate details.
In addition to standard 20MP photo and 1080p video recording and intelligent editing capabilities, myFirst Camera 50 can connect to the myFirst Circle app, which is designed to provide children with a safe environment to share their creations with their trusted friends and family . Parents have full control over visibility, managing messages and who can view them.
myFirst Camera 50 is small and light for little hands and features a warm light bar to illuminate selfies. It can connect to the myFirst Circle app on your phone via Wi-Fi and has 16GB of built-in storage that can be expanded up to 128GB with a memory card.
Other tools include myDiary, which combines photography and journaling, giving children space to express themselves, complete with prompts.
As a father of young children, I like the concept of the myFirst Camera 50; an easy-to-use, connected camera with smart editing and a safe space to share multimedia creations. It can be just as rewarding for grandparents and parents like me who enjoy their children’s creations as much as the child who makes them.
Whether myFirst Camera 50 is one of the best cameras for kids and can deliver on its safe features, we’ll have to see – at the time of writing we’re currently doing a full review. It’s available now from the myFirst store in blue or purple (see above) and costs $129 / £109 / AU$149.
