- With the Google Pixel 10 series you can use the telephone camera for macro photos
- This allows you to shoot from further away and help prevent you from blocking the light
- However, macro recordings will apparently also be possible with the ultra-wide camera
Macro photography on phones often seems to be a bit of a side issue, but with the Pixel 10 Series, Google might take it more seriously.
This is according to Android -KoppenHe claims that the Pixel 10 and its brothers and sisters-by which is expected to have the Pixel 10 Pro, the Pixel 10 Pro XL and the Pixel 10 Pro Fold-a tele-macro mode.
In other words, if this is good, these telephones can use their telephone cameras for macro recordings. That is in contrast to the Google Pixel 9 Series and most other high-end handsets, which tend to use their ultra-wide cameras for macro photography.
The advantage of Tele-Macro is that you can take macro photos from further away. That can be more convenient, especially when photographing something that might not appreciate that you encounter about it, as an insect. And because you can be further away from the subject, you will not block the light that much.
But maybe sometimes you sometimes want to get closer, and you should also have the Pixel 10 series there, because according to this leak it also offers macro possibilities with its ultra-wide camera.
In other words, the Google Pixel 10 series may therefore doubles on macro modes and offers two options where most phones have only one.
A macro focus
That-and especially the tele-macro mode is great news, because it should make it much easier to make high quality macro photos, and as a photography man who could seduce me to upgrade.
Telephone companies tend to concentrate on their most important and ultra-wide snappers, with telephone photos often coming in third place and Macro is even less a consideration.
But if you like to take photos of a wide range of things from different perspectives, then it is important to have a wide range of focal length where you can photograph.
It sounds like the Pixel 10 Pro and Pixel 10 Pro XL in particular can offer this, with wide, ultra-wide, telephone (probably with 5x optical zoom), and two different macro modes that may be offered to not forget 2x zoom of optical quality, which is reached on the Pixel 9 series by cutting the main sensor.
That could cause one of the most extensive cameras you find on a smartphone, and can even give me back from the Apple side.
