‘This is my swamp’ shoppers burst into laughter over Zara’s ‘Shrek range’

IT’S the cult favorite among animated films that we can watch over and over again. And now Shrek fans can look like a green ogre thanks to Zara’s new collection.

Customers of the retail chain panicked when they saw two items of clothing that resembled the iconic fictional character.

Zara’s brand new collection is seen by some fashionistas as the perfect choice for Halloween. Contrasting T-shirt and vest consists of a simple white T-shirt and a dark khaki knitted cardigan over it.

For the affordable price of £25.99, this is a steal that you can easily wear on days when you’re looking for a casual and comfortable outfit – or just want to look like Shrek.

The two-piece suit is available in sizes S, M and L. The fit is relaxed and the styling possibilities are endless.

However, one customer of the retailer, known on TikTok only as Georgie, had a different idea: when she first saw the garments, she immediately thought of the green ogre.

The English shopper told the popular platform that Zara had launched a ‘new Shrek line’ and caused hilarity among people with his discovery.

The young woman posed in the dressing room wearing a white T-shirt and a khaki vest and mimicked the iconic Shrek roar as her friend filmed her.

The olive green knitted cardigan matched perfectly with the khaki linen pants and her brown locks in two cute buns.

“Shreksy,” Georgie wrote in the caption of the now viral clipwhich has been viewed no less than 1.5 million times.

According to the customer, her partner was initially eager to make the purchase, but Georgie convinced her to leave the items in the store.

“My girlfriend thought it was cute and I stopped her.”

Hundreds of social media users burst into laughter as they rushed to express their opinions.

A fashion lover said: “I was thinking the exact same thing like, who wears this?”

A Zara employee laughed at the iconic Shrek reference, writing: “This is my swamp!”

“I just know someone bought this top, loved it, watched this video and will now never wear it again,” said another.

“Why did I initially think this was from Universal Studios as Shrek merchandise?” one viewer joked.

This comes after fans of the cult film went into an uproar after it was announced that Shrek 5 would be released in theaters.

Shrek 5 is scheduled for release in the US on July 1, 2026, 16 years after the release of Forever After and 25 years after the original Shrek film.
