This is when Xiaomi could release its flagship tablet with an OLED display

Xiaomi is working on two tablet models that could appear as flagship devices from the Chinese tech company, according to details shared by a tipster. These devices could come with OLED displays and powerful processors and other components. Xiaomi is reportedly planning to launch the alleged tablet models in the coming months, in two screen sizes. The smaller of the two is said to launch in 2025, meaning it could launch after the expected launch of the Xiaomi Pad 7 series.

Xiaomi is working on new tablet models with OLED screens

Details of two new tablets from Xiaomi have been revealed leaked by tipster Digital Chat Station (translated from Chinese) via a post on Weibo. The former is a “conventional” large flagship tablet with an OLED display with a “matte soft light” finish. This suggests the device will have a matte or paper-like finish, which could be similar to Lenovo’s Xiaoxin Pad Pro 12.7 tablet that was recently unveiled in China.

The tipster also shared details about a second tablet with a smaller, flat display. It appears that this smaller variant will also be a high-performance model and is in a more advanced stage of development. The post notes that Xiaomi’s compact flagship tablet is expected to launch sometime in 2025.

If the tipster’s claims are true, these tablets will be Xiaomi’s first to feature an OLED display. They’re also expected to be powered by flagship-grade chipsets and could be significantly more expensive than the Chinese company’s previous offerings.

In another post on Weibo, the leaker claims that the Xiaomi Pad 7 series of tablets could launch in late August. Previous leaks have suggested that the company is also gearing up to launch the Xiaomi Pad 7 series, which is expected to succeed the Pad 6 series that arrived in April 2023. This year, Xiaomi is expected to equip the Pad 7 Pro models with a Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset and a 144Hz refresh rate LCD display.
