‘Thought You Were 50′ Trolls Criticize Mom’s Makeup Routine Who Adds ’15 Years’

A WOMAN was advised to immediately change her make-up routine, which has made her look over a decade younger.

Makeup can enhance your natural features and even make you look years younger, but it can also have the opposite effect. Mom Sasha Dennocenzo recently learned this the hard way after malicious internet trolls criticized her beauty regimen.

A mother took to Instagram to show off her makeup routine, but the reactions weren't always positive.

The video saw the pretty blonde, who is believed to be from the US, try her hand at white eyeliner – a cheap and easy trick to make your eyes look brighter and more awake in seconds.

But despite all the anger from other beauty lovers, the mother couldn’t suppress the hype, insisting that the end result was a total failure and that she looked like a ‘clown’.

“Who’s with me?” Sasha wondered in the caption.

Unfortunately for the mother, the short video turned Instagram into a wildly popular one, but for the wrong reason: Sasha’s real age.

According to thousands of cruel social media users, the mother, who claimed to be in her 30s, looked very different from them; some were even 50.

“Can I be honest? Your makeup ages you so much. You don’t look thirty-something at all,” one person wrote.

According to the cheeky viewer, Sasha had made three crucial mistakes with her appearance, which did not flatter her and made her face look older than it did ten years ago.

”Thick black eyeliner, sharp brows, matte lips… you scream Gen X. You’d lose 15 years just by changing those 3 things.”

Others weren’t so keen on the black eyeliner either, with dozens urging the mother to ditch it for a less intense look.

“Sis, it’s the black eyeliner. That’s the problem,” said another.

I’m 51 and ageing my face with make-up – my hero: £5 L’Oréal can literally take years off your eyes

A fellow beauty fanatic wrote: ”Girly, try brown mascara and no eyeliner. You’re aging yourself.

“Black is too heavy for our faces as we get older. I honestly thought you were 50.”

“If you can do the best, invest in a self-makeup course with an artist. Your makeup is doing you a disservice,” said another.

But not everyone was so harsh, as there was one kind viewer who fought back against the meanness and in doing so drew attention to a much bigger problem.

Biggest Beauty Flaws

Tara Ledden, beauty editor of Fabulous, shares the do’s and don’ts of beauty.

“No matter how much time and money you spend on your beauty routine, if you don’t get the basics right, everything else is wasted.

“There aren’t many things you can’t negotiate, but these are the biggest cosmetic mistakes that are sabotaging your regime.”

  • Do not use SPF: Sun damage is the number one cause of premature skin aging, so if you want to keep your skin looking firm and radiant, sunscreen is essential.
  • Use of products whose expiration date has passed: At best, they are ineffective and do not deliver the results they promise, at worst they cause irritation and infection. The shelf life of beauty products varies – for example, mascara is usually good for 3-6 months, while lipstick is good for 9-18 months. Check the ‘POA’ symbol on the packaging (it looks like a jar and has a number inside it for how many months it is safe after opening. If you can’t remember when you opened your product, throw it out and start over, marking the month and year on the packaging with a permanent marker.
  • Not knowing your undertone: If you use makeup with the wrong undertones, it will never look natural, no matter how much you mix it! An easy trick to figure out if you have cool, warm, or neutral undertones is to check the veins on your wrist – if they look blue, you have cool undertones, if they look green, you have warm, and if they’re a mix, you have neutral.
  • Skip heat protectant: It may seem unnecessary, but just like sun damage to the skin, excessive heat is the most common cause of hair damage. So if you want shiny, healthy hair, or if you want to grow it longer, using a heat protection product is essential.
  • Not washing your face before bed: it’s as simple as this, if you don’t wash your face before you go to bed, whatever has been on your skin during the day will stay there longer, clogging your pores and drying out the surface. Any skincare you apply on top won’t be effective with a layer of dirt underneath, and you’ll probably end up with dirty pillows too – yuck!

”Wow, the comments here are disgusting. “Screaming Gen X”, “older millennials”, “you’d lose 15 years if you did this…”.

”You should all be ashamed of yourselves! Why is society still obsessed with telling women how to look, how to act, how to exist?

“She posted a video about how she feels in white, not ‘hey everyone, criticize me, make fun of me, and tell me everything I’m doing wrong.'”

Another agreed, urging other Internet users to be nicer to each other.

“Why is everyone so rude? I think they’re so used to seeing people with a million filters on here and forgot what a real woman looks like. I think your makeup looks beautiful.”
