Three new action-packed Netflix trailers have landed, and I can’t wait to see Cameron Diaz back on my screen
Just when I think I’m running out of movies and shows to watch on Netflix, it always comes back and I get a trailer for a brand new original title. But this time I have not one, not two, but three action-packed new releases (see below) to look forward to, so Netflix’s reputation as one of the best streaming services remains intact.
The three exciting new Netflix trailers are aimed at spy action films Back in actioncomedy thriller series Not a good deed and chilling psychological crime series The madness, that’s my prediction for one of our next best Netflix movie entries. Each title will be available to stream over the next three months, but what excites me most about these new titles is the sheer number of actors appearing on screen.
After an eleven-year hiatus from playing Princess Fiona herself, Cameron Diaz (Shrek, Charlie’s Angels), joins forces with husband and Annie (2014) co-star Jamie Foxx (Django unleashed, Ray) in an action spectacle with a spy family twist.
If you were a fan of Dead to me (one of the best Netflix series), creator Liz Feldman brings you another comedy-thriller series Not a good deed with leading actress of Death to me, Linda Cardellini. Together with Lisa Kudrow, Luke Wilson and Matt Rogers, the new series seems to offer a perfect balance between comedy and suspense.
And then we can’t forget Colman Domingo who leads Stephen Belber’s conspiracy thriller series The madnesswhere the dark and menacing look of the trailer hints at a whodunnit story.
Each title will be released on Netflix over the next three months and we’ll no doubt be sharing our thoughts and feelings as they appear. But what are these new titles about, you might ask? Here’s what to expect from the upcoming shows and their respective trailers.
Back in action
Coming to Netflix: January 17
Cameron Diaz breaks out of her eleven-year acting retirement and returns to the screen in Seth Gordon’s spy action film. Married couple Emily (Diaz) and Matt (Jamie Foxx) have been out of their CIA roles for years to focus on raising a family, but are pulled back into the field for a new mission when their secret identities are revealed.
Diaz’s return to the screen isn’t the only thing that excites me about this new Netflix film, but the star-studded array of names alone reveals just how much budget was invested in its production. According to Varietyas well as Diaz and Foxx, Kyle Chandler, Glenn Close, Andrew Scott, Jamie Demetriou, McKenna Roberts and Rylan Jackson will also be bringing the fun.
Not a good deed
Coming to Netflix: December 12
From the maker of Dead to meNetflix’s new comedy-thriller icon from Friends Lisa Kudrow, so that was enough to seduce me. With her on-screen partner Ray Romano, the two play a couple struggling to sell their home and hide a dark secret lurking beneath the estate’s lot.
In addition to Kudrow and Romano, Linda Cardellini, OT Fagbenle, Abbi Jacobson, Denis Leary, Poppy Liu, Teyonah Parris and Luke Wilson star as a gang of potential buyers who fight to get their hands on the property.
The madness
Coming to Netflix: November 28
Oscar nominee Colman Domingo gives a chilling performance as Muncie Daniels, a high-profile media figure accused of murdering a notorious white supremacist. As a black man with a respected job in the media, he must do everything he can to clear his name and prove his innocence in the face of an impending, targeted attack.
The show will span eight episodes with creator Stephen Belger and VJ Boyd as co-showrunners. Marsha Stephanie Blake, Gabrielle Graham, Tamsin Topolski and Thaddeus J. Mixson also star.
