Timeless Icon Dita Von Teese Shares ‘Glampire’ Beauty Tricks to Looking Good at 52
BURLESQUE icon Dita Von teese has revealed her favorite beauty tips to keep her looking ageless.
The dancer and model, 52, took to a podcast to reveal her secrets and people can’t believe how youthful she looks.
In the Naked Beauty Planted podcast, she advised sleeping like a ‘glampire’.
Dita, famous for performing on stage in a giant martini glass, says she often seeks advice from women older than herself when it comes to skin care.
She said: “I think one of the best things you can do is ask the elders around you for advice at all levels of life.”
One of their beauty tips that she uses all the time is applying sunscreen every day.
Although Dita uses La Mer sunscreen, which costs a whopping £95, you’ll be happy to know that the brand doesn’t matter as long as you protect your skin from UV rays.
Dita also swears by not smoking, as it can destroy collagen and elastin in the skin, causing you to age prematurely.
The ageless beauty also told you to stop drinking, although she admits she still enjoys a glass every now and then.
She continued: “I also sleep on my back.
‘Someone should have told me that a long time ago.
You should sleep like a glampire.”
The clip was shared on their TikTok account@nude beauty planet where it went viral with over 185,000 views and 15,000 likes.
People were quick to respond to the comments and were eager to follow Dita’s advice.
One person wrote: “My jaw dropped when I Googled her age. 52?! She looks fantastic.”
Another commented: “Strangely enough, I sleep best on my back anyway, so I guess I can be a glampire too.”
“Basically a perfect goddess,” a third wrote.
The importance of sunscreen in your skin care routine
Dermatologist and skincare enthusiast Andrea Suarez – known as Dr Dray – revealed why you should wear sunscreen.
The one thing you can do that will make the biggest difference – and this is important for all ages – is protect your skin from the sun, Andrea emphasizes.
“The vast majority of external aging is due to ultraviolet exposure,” she continued, and not because you “don’t use a jazzy serum or put ninety different things on your face every day.”
“If you’re not doing it in your twenties, start doing it now.”
But she said using sunscreen alone doesn’t go far enough. Andrea urged that you also wear sun-protective clothing, such as wide-brimmed hats and long sleeves, and that you should not stay out in the sun for too long.
If you do this throughout your life — and all year round, not just in the summer or on sunny days — “you will reduce the visible signs of photoaging,” Andrea said.
These are wrinkles, messy pigmentation and sagging skin.
Meanwhile, a fourth said: “Wow, I know 20-year-olds who look older than her.”
“I saw her in Vegas and I have never seen a more stunning woman in real life,” claimed a fifth.
Someone else added: “I saw her in person once at a vintage swap and I was too frozen in place. She is so magnetic and so stunning. There are no words.”
