A woman who police say was driving five times the speed limit is said to have crashed into four cars while trying to get out of a shopping mall parking garage.

Police were called to the Topham Mall car park in the Adelaide Friday at 7.20pm in the CBD to see the trail of destruction reportedly left by the 42-year-old woman’s silver Mercedes-Benz sedan.

Four cars were badly damaged and some were stuck against the concrete pillars of the parking lot.

Motorists shopping at the mall found their cars in varying stages of destruction.

A breath test found the driver of the Mercedes-Benz had a blood alcohol level of 0.257, more than five times the legal limit.

The officers reported the woman for driving under the influence and immediately gave her a 12-month license suspension.

The woman will have to appear in court at a later date.
