A football player died after having gone into a coma after a horrible collision with an opponent.
The 14-year-old Ilann, whose surname was remembered by his club, died after playing for the French team Jeunesse Villenavaise.
The teenager was reportedly struck in the chest during an air duel while he played in a tournament in Merignac on Sunday.
Ilann was rushed to the Bordeaux University Hospital after he had lost consciousness and sliding into a coma.
He underwent various emergency operations to put the internal bleeding in his liver.
But doctors could not save Illan and he died tragically on Tuesday.
Jeunesse Villenavaise has canceled training the next day and at the same time provided counseling for players.
And they confirmed the sad death of Ilan in a heartbreaking statement on social media.
It said: “It is with a broken heart and a silent soul that we announce the death of Ilann, a young panther of the club.
“There are no words good enough, no sense strong enough. Only silence, tears and love.
“Today Jeunesse Villenavaise is in mourning. A family, teammates, educators, parents are together, united in grief.
“To the family of Ilann, to his loved ones, we send all our absolute, sincere and unconditional love.
“Ilann, one of us forever, we make a promise: we will never forget you.
“Rest in Peace, Young Panther. The field is yours forever.”
Fans quickly paid tribute to Ilann.
It was said, “Peace for his soul and courage for the family.”
Another stated: “Rest in peace, sincere condolences.”
They noted: “Huge support for his family and club.”
Another added: “So sad, football is in mourning.”
