Transforming into a future king! Prince George looks incredibly grown up in a smart suit for a new portrait taken by Kate to celebrate his 11th birthday

The Prince and Princess of Wales have shared a beautiful portrait of Prince George as he celebrates his 11th birthday today.

The black-and-white photo, taken by 42-year-old enthusiastic photographer Kate, shows the future king in a suit, beaming for the camera.

The young royal, who is the eldest child of the Prince and Princess of Wales, was born George Alexander Louis on July 22, 2013, at the Lindo Wing of St Mary’s Hospital in Paddington, London.

In the photo, which was shared to the Kensington Palace X and Instagram accounts, George’s hair is combed to one side and he looks sharp in a suit – like his father – as he beams for the camera.

Fans of the royal family have become accustomed to seeing the future king looking dapper in recent years as he prepares to one day sit on the throne. This photo, however, shows the royal looking a little more relaxed in an open collar instead of a tie.

He also wears what appears to be a delicate handmade bracelet on his left wrist, which bears a striking resemblance to the jewelry recently worn by Princess Charlotte and King Charles.

Fans of the royal family reacted to the photo and were very enthusiastic about the future king and his stately appearance. They especially noted that he looked a lot like his father.

Now that George, second in line to the throne, turns 11 today, he is preparing to start secondary school in September. However, it is not yet clear which institution Kate and William will send him to.

But as the young prince begins a new chapter in his life, royal fans are celebrating the milestone with nostalgia. On X, formerly Twitter, they’re sharing photos of the prince as a baby and toddler.

Growing up, George was known for his cheeky performances, similar to the comedic displays now associated with his younger brother, Prince Louis.

The eldest of the Welsh children also won hearts all over the world with his cherub-like appearance.

Fans of the royal family celebrated his birthday on social media, wishing the young prince a happy birthday and sharing their favorite childhood photos of him.

George is celebrating his 11th birthday after his family endured a tough few months as his mother Kate, 42, underwent cancer treatment.

Prince George has increasingly come to resemble a mini-statesman in recent months, showing grace and steadfastness at official occasions despite what has been a turbulent time for the royal family.

In January, Kensington Palace announced that the Princess of Wales would be taking a break from public appearances as she recovers from abdominal surgery at the London Clinic for a condition that has not been disclosed publicly.

Two months later, after massive speculation and wild conspiracy theories about her health, Kate shared a moving video message in which she revealed that doctors had found cancer cells during her surgery.

She also said she had undergone ‘preventative’ chemotherapy as a result.

The princess said she and William had ‘done everything they could to process and arrange this in complete privacy, in the interests of our young family’.

Meanwhile, George’s grandfather, King Charles, 75, is also undergoing treatment for cancer.

As a sign that his mother’s treatment was going well, George accompanied her to Trooping the Colour to celebrate the King’s official birthday in June.

He rode in a carriage with Kate, Charlotte and 6-year-old Louis during the procession and stood with his family on the balcony of Buckingham Palace.

Despite his family’s problems, George continues to shine in all his public appearances.

His attitude shows that the young prince is well prepared for his future responsibilities as monarch.

He attended Aston Villa matches, the FA Cup final and the Euro 2024 final between England and Spain earlier this month.

As George approaches high school age, there is also speculation about where he will pursue his next education.

Prince William was educated at the prestigious Eton College, while Kate attended Marlborough School in Buckinghamshire.

William and Kate visited both homes to explore options for George.

But earlier this year it was revealed that the couple had added Oundle School in Peterborough to their list of options for their eldest son.

This £34,000-a-year mixed school in north Northamptonshire dates back to 1556 but has a modern philosophy. Its website states: ‘We have a responsibility to ensure that every member of the school community takes action, both individually and collectively, to make the environment more sustainable.’
