Now Charlotte, who is six months pregnant with her third child, has hit back, calling the malicious, unsubstantiated calls ‘pathetic’.

The mystery callers have contacted the council’s agency, designed to protect children and ensure their welfare, and the NSPCC, for unfounded reasons, numerous times over the past year.

“It’s crazy,” Charlotte, 32, says. “It’s just standard now.

“They call social services all the time when there’s something on my Instagram. It’s sad.”

“I haven’t heard anything in a few weeks, but I’m sure it will happen soon.

“I don’t know who it is and I don’t really care because it’s just sad.

“There are people who actually need help from social services, you know, I don’t.”

According to family law firm Reeds Solicitors, these types of false accusations are on the rise in Britain and Charlotte isn’t the only high-profile celebrity mother on the receiving end.

In August, TV presenter Kirstie Allsopp found herself in trouble with social services after publicly saying she had allowed her 15-year-old son to travel around Europe.

‘Blinded and humiliated’

After one anonymously Following a tip-off, she was contacted by authorities, who insisted that every complaint must be investigated.

Kirstie, 53, later said: “It was a malicious call made by someone who was clearly trying to upset me.

“I just felt sick – absolutely sick. Then I was very angry.”

Last month DJ and reality star Ashley Jameswho has two children, also revealed that she was targeted by trolls who reported her for “neglect”.

Ashley, 37, said: “At the time I was really upset about it, but soon that sadness or fear was replaced with anger.

“I know how loved my children are and I know I am such a good mother.”

They said that Matthew and I are unable to care for Noah and that he should be taken from us.

Charlotte about the hurtful trolling

For Charlotte, who is engaged to her children’s father Matt Sarsfield, the nightmare has been going on since last year, when she received a call from authorities based on an anonymous tip.

“Basically it meant that Noah always gets hurt in my care, I’m always drunk when I’m with him, he’s always in the hospital and all that nonsense,” Charlotte previously explained. “They said that Matthew and I are unable to care for Noah and that he should be taken from us.”

A further nasty complaint was also filed, falsely claiming that she gave Noah alcohol and shared nude photos of him on social media.

Charlotte said the attempts by strangers to take her children away left her “heartbroken” and “depressed”.

While some fans defended her over the latest allegations, others added fuel to the fire.

“Take responsibility and stop putting your children online.

“Social services could be the least of your worries,” one raged, while another insisted: “Protecting children is everyone’s business.”

It’s the latest in a series of personal setbacks that have devastated Charlotte’s most recent pregnancy.

It’s been a hellish ride for the Ex On The Beach star, daughter of the late legendary comedian Les Dawson, with the one bright spot being that she recently discovered she was expecting a long-awaited little girl.

“I’m really looking forward to the back end of this year, if I’m honest,” she says. “It’s been a lot. It’s been a tough few months.”

Charlotte’s life was turned upside down in August when she discovered rugby league player Matt had been sending secret ‘dirty texts’ and X-rated photos of himself while drunk to another woman.

She said the lady in question, Emily Louise Hodgkinson, 34, was “an ex of one of his rugby friends”, who had responded “best dad” to messages and stories about Matt because she “obviously had a thing for him”.

I don’t know who it is and I don’t really care because it’s just sad.

Charlotte about the anonymous trolls

Charlotte, who had discovered she was pregnant that same month, said she was “blindsided and humiliated”. Shortly after Swinton Lions player Matt left home.

Initially, sources said she ‘refused to forgive’ her cheating partner, but later took him back – despite loved ones and even strangers online begging her to dump him.

“It all came out after I found out I was pregnant. It was obviously very early and I didn’t want to reveal it because I’ve lost babies before,” Charlotte explains.

“It’s been a very difficult time, especially because everyone has a opinion about what was going on. I was in my first trimester, which is one of the riskiest, and you have to be very calm and collected. Of course, I certainly wasn’t.”

Speaking about what happened shortly after the event news Charlotte said: ‘(Emily) tried her luck via text one night when Matthew was drunk and, like an idiot getting a bit of attention, he went for it and sent her pictures of his bits.

“It just doesn’t make sense why he would risk so much for that.”

When news of the scandal emerged, sources said Charlotte had to “hold back her tears” to care for the children, and Emily in turn said she was “mortified” by Matt’s actions.

Now Charlotte insists she followed her instincts when it came to putting the devastating ordeal behind her.

“Everyone had their opinion, but you have to tune out the outside noise and focus on what you want and what’s good for you, and that’s exactly what I did,” she says.

Matt, who proposed in September 2020, returned to the family home in Lancashire about a month after his indiscretion was exposed and has since been allowed back into the bedroom by his forgiving partner.

“He’s been home for a few months now, which is obviously good for us as a family and for the boys and for us,” says Charlotte.

“We’re all happy right now, everything is going well and we’re excited to become a family of five, which is quite intimidating. We will get through it as a family and as a couple.”

She adds: “I would obviously want this to all happen in private.

“If this girl hadn’t said anything I would have handled it privately, but obviously things were very different.

“We’re getting some couples counseling and stuff like that, working through it and doing what’s best for the boys and best for us.”

It’s no wonder Charlotte has relished the chance to escape everything and tread the boards.

Last weekend she made her first appearance as Abanazar’s side-kick Fortulicious, in Aladdin at Blackpool’s Pleasure Beach Globe Theater.

‘Chaotic time’

She says: “I’ve already got rid of my damn bunions, it’s chaos.

“It’s been crazy, crazy, crazy right now, but the show must go on. I’m obviously the bad guy, so I get booed a lot, but I move on from that.

“I love being a villain, I just couldn’t be a princess, I’m not that type of character.

“People always thought I would be Cinderella, but I thought, ‘No, Cinderella is too wet for me. I’m a bad guy with a bump.’

Charlotte says she is a lot like her famous father Les, who loved theater performances and often performed as a panto dame. That’s because she, too, “doesn’t like rehearsals,” believing that the “energy of the audience brings me to life.”

Charlotte says: “I feel a lot closer to my dad when I do pantomime, especially when I’m on stage.

“I feel like he would be proud of me and look down on me. I now have it everywhere in my dressing room.

“My mum made my dressing room all festive, sparkly and Christmassy, and put up pictures of my dad to really give me the happiness I need.

“I actually have his panto dame costume in my dressing room, it’s a bit of a good luck charm.”

Now Charlotte is looking forward to finally becoming a “girl mom,” something she has always dreamed of.

“This baby was completely unplanned and obviously happened at the most chaotic time, but I can’t wait for our little princess,” she says.

“I’m so excited to finally have my little girl. I always thought I would be a boy mom.

“At least there is one positive outcome from what happened: a rainbow that emerged from the storm.”
