Trolls are judging my outfit and saying it’s for ‘younger girls’, but crop tops are suitable for any age

A mum has defended her outfit choice after being told she is ‘too old’ to wear a revealing dress.

Glamorous Lynne Cavanagh, 45, has three children and is often mistaken for someone much younger than her age.

She loves fashion and regularly shares clips of the form-fitting outfits she picks up.

In a recent TikTok post (@lynnelxx), Lynne revealed she was trying to choose an outfit for her birthday weekend.

And she fell in love with a black cut-out bodycon dress that exposed her midriff, which she paired with knee-high heel boots.

She said, “It sits just below your breasts. I wanted something with long sleeves. I love this.”

But she also sighed, “I’m not so sure I’m too old for it.”

Social media users were quick to assure her that the outfit was perfect, as one person pointed out: “Never too old, you have a fantastic figure. If you have it, show it off.”

A second echoed: ‘You have the figure to wear something beautiful.’

Meanwhile, a third chimed in: ‘Definitely not too old Lynne, you look FAF [fit as f***].”

However, others were less complimentary, claiming the dress was not suitable for a 45-year-old.

One hater sneered: “I’m about thirty years too old for that.”

A second said: “It’s more for younger girls. I’m not saying you’re old, you’re beautiful and you have a great figure.”

And a third wrote: “Too old for this.”

But mother-of-three Lynne immediately hit back: “I’m old but I think fashion is for any age as long as you rock it.

“Some people are big on age issues, that doesn’t bother me.”

Lynne previously revealed the ‘sad’ part of her body she feels insecure about – and it forces her to be creative during holidays.

She said: “I love going on holiday and I love getting a tan, but my lips are all chapped and my knees look miserable.

“They look even more miserable when they are tanned.

“Women, the older we get, everything goes wrong. So we end up with sad knees.

“That piece of skin above your knee that curves around your knee and it just looks like a constantly miserable sight.

‘Well, it’s brown and browner than my knee.

“So I have to sit with my legs bent so my skin looks nice.”
