Trolls come for ‘single mom’ as she shares dinner and they all say the same thing

A low-income single mother has been criticised after she proudly showed off the dish she prepared for her family in the air fryer.

Mama Sophie (@home.life) was criticized after she posted a clip online showing her making an easy cup of tea on a budget.

To keep costs as low as possible, the frugal parent used a frozen pepperoni pizza from the Just Essentials range at ASDA, which retails for less than a quid.

The videowhich has now been viewed almost 900,000 times in less than a week, shows Sophie first slicing the 97p pizza while it is frozen and then throwing the slices into her air fryer.

Sophie served slices of garlic bread with the pizza with meat, tomato sauce and grated cheese.

Before giving the food to her children, the mother, who describes herself as a low-income earner, sprinkled a generous amount of table salt on the plate.

But while the little ones enjoyed the ‘nightmare’ tea, people on social media were quick to opt for the budget-friendly meal, with many saying the same thing.

“Cut the pizza when it’s done, it’s a lot easier,” someone wrote.

Another said: “I think you don’t cut it until it’s cooked, mate.”

Among the viewers who shared their thoughts in the comments, there were also those who urged the mother to find healthier alternatives that aren’t too expensive.

One of them said: “I’m not judging, but a bag of potatoes and some baked beans is more filling than a well-baked salty pizza.”

“Vegetables cost 50p!!” wrote a fourth, while another was stunned when Sophie threw salt on the pizza.

Heartbroken single mother scammed while on vacation

One foodie shared how the single mom could make similar pizzas without necessarily having to buy store-bought ones.

”If you want to do something fun for the kids. Take your usual bread, some tomato puree and cheese/other toppings and you can make little pizzas like that, it tastes amazing and is cheap to make.”

However, it wasn’t all harsh criticism. Some responded en masse and showed their support for Sophie, who was described as ‘a total mess’.

“Why does everyone hate? Am I the only one who doesn’t care and eats pizza or something for every meal,” wondered one foodie.

How to Save Money on Groceries

Experts in saving money at HSBC UK have revealed their top tips for saving money on your groceries.

1. Set a budget
Creating a budget will help you stretch your budget. Start by calculating how much you spent on food over the past three months, and then set aside a certain amount for food each month you get paid.

2. Plan your meals
Make a list of your main meals for the coming week, including the ingredients you need, and stick to it. Don’t be tempted by deals on things you don’t need. If you have some leftover food from the week before, try to see what you can do with it first.

3. Think about when and where you shop
It is best to shop on a full stomach so that you are not tempted. Shopping less often can help you think about what you are buying and can help you stay within your budget.

4. Go online
Online shopping is a great and easy way to manage your budget. It can also help you keep track of your spending while also preventing impulse purchases.

A second one joined in the conversation: “At first I thought: why are you cutting it frozen, but when I saw how delicious that pizza looked, I thought: fine.”

This comes after another mother, Alexandra Sabol, was shamed for the dinner that netizens said they wouldn’t even dare feed to a dog.

The now-viral dish consisted of a package of ready-made sausages cooked with a macaroni and cheese mix, and garnished with lots of salt.

The latter sparked anger, as concerned users on social media said the dish contained “too much” sodium and that the nutritional information was “absolute nonsense”.

While some insisted it was 'unhealthy', others pointed out that at least the kids weren't going to bed hungry
