Trump group releases brazen ad accusing Kamala Harris of covering up Biden’s cognitive decline as it declares war on VP

Allies of Donald Trump launched an attack ad on Kamala Harris on Monday morning, linking the vice president to Joe Biden’s policies and accusing her of helping to hide the president’s decline from the country.

“Kamala was there,” says the narrator of “Paid the Price,” a 30-second spot from MAGA Inc., a super PAC that supports Trump. “She covered up Joe’s obvious mental decline.”

The ad was placed in the crucial states of Arizona, Georgia and Pennsylvania within hours of Biden announcing he would not seek re-election.

According to AdImpact, a company that tracks political ad spending, MAGA Inc. has spent or booked $123.8 million to date.

It shows how Trump supporters were already preparing for the possibility that Biden would withdraw after weeks of pressure that began with his disastrous performance at the debate.

Their strategy so far has been to use the same attack strategies on immigration and inflation that they developed for Biden, and they have also attacked Harris for defending the president against accusations that he is no longer fit for office.

“Kamala Harris has been lying about Joe Biden’s mental state for years and America has suffered because of it,” said Alex Pfeiffer, spokesman for MAGA Inc.

“Now is the time for her to tell the truth and answer this one question: If Joe Biden is not fit for the campaign, how is he fit for office?”

The ad uses Kamala’s own words against her.

“Our president is in good shape, in good health, tireless, energetic, and I have no doubt that the work we have done is valuable,” she said, watching a clip of Biden lumbering up the steps of Air Force One.

The narrator then twists the knife and portrays Harris as the real instigator of the administration’s policies.

“But Kamala knew Joe couldn’t do the job, so she did it anyway,” the narrator says.

“Look what she’s done, border invasion, runaway inflation, the death of the American Dream. They’ve created this mess. She… no, Kamala owns this failed record.”

Biden made his announcement in a letter posted on social media on Sunday

A day earlier, Trump’s campaign demanded that Biden resign as president.

“Joe Biden cannot withdraw from the presidential campaign because he is mentally incompetent and still remain in the White House,” said Trump’s top campaign managers Chris LaCivita and Susie Wiles.

“Biden is a threat to our national security and is in serious cognitive decline. He is a clear and present danger to every man, woman and child in our country.”

Key Trump insiders are quietly pleased with the way Democrats have had to change course.
