Tucker Carlson will reveal details about a secret meeting with Russian Foreign Minister Lavrov
Tucker Carlson will reveal details of his secret meeting with Russia’s foreign minister after announcing the interview last night.
Carlson announced that a conversation with Sergey Lavrov would be shared “very soon” as Russia confirmed it would publish the clip after an edit.
The former FOX News host said on X that they discussed how to avert a “nuclear holocaust” and the shape of Russia’s informal ties with China.
He also claimed to have asked Lavrov “where exactly we are” on the road to an “unprecedented conflict between Russia and the United States.”
He said he asked how the election of Donald Trump, considered Russia’s preferred candidate, “would mean an end to this war.”
Carlson posted a video from Moscow’s Red Square criticizing the Biden administration, which he said had “brought the US closer and closer to nuclear conflict with Russia” over its decision to let Ukraine attack Russia with long-range missiles.
He claimed that the US was already engaged in a “hot war with Russia, unbeknownst to most Americans” that had brought the nation “closer to nuclear war than ever in history.”
He also denounced what he called Washington’s “shocking” lack of communication with Moscow and angered its perceived failure to share the “Russian perspective” on the war.

The former Fox News host said he returned to speak with Lavrov, seen here, because of what he described as the Biden administration pushing the US toward nuclear war with Russia.
Putin and Carlson sat down earlier this year for a two-hour interview in which the Russian president took aim at President Biden
Carlson claimed that the State Department blocked his proposed conversation with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy as he announced he would soon share an “absolutely fascinating” conversation with Lavrov via Elon Musk’s social platform, X.
Russia confirmed that a chat of about 90 minutes would be released within days after translation and editing.
Russian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Maria Zakharova said “Ukraine and other issues were raised” during the conversation.
“Emphasis was placed on the modern, current history of our difficult relations with the United States, the impact of all this on global geopolitics, the possibilities of the future state of affairs,” she said.
Carlson claimed in the video that the US and Russia were closer to nuclear war than during the Cuban Missile Crisis.
‘We believed that there should be someone behind the scenes in Washington to ensure that this conflict does not become a nuclear holocaust.
‘But we found out that no one was actually there.
‘[Anthony] Blinken, the current Secretary of State, has severed all contact between the US and Russian governments. There is no backchannel,” he said.

Carlson claimed that no talks had taken place with Russia in “more than two years.”
In fact, Russia and the US remain in contact.
Just yesterday the Pentagon said yes used his military hotline with Russia to communicate about developments in Syria.
Pentagon spokesman Maj. Gen. Patrick Ryder said the hotline exists “to prevent potential miscalculations.”
Reuters cited a US official said in November 2022 that the hotline to Russia had, however, been used once since the start of the war.
The Pentagon said last June, the US had met with Russian defense chiefs to discuss the importance of open lines of communication.
Russia said it had warned the US about the dangers of continued support for Ukraine.
In the video posted to X on Tuesday, Carlson also claimed that “US military personnel launched missiles into mainland Russia, killing at least a dozen Russian soldiers.”
Although President Biden last month allowed U.S. military contractors to be deployed to Ukraine, reversing a de facto ban, Russia has not clashed with the U.S. military.
Critics say he let the Kremlin leader set the agenda during that interview and failed to pressure him on key issues, such as allegations of war crimes in Ukraine.

Biden controversially granted Ukraine permission to use his supplied ATACMS long-range missiles to hit targets deeper inside Russia, after reports emerged that Russia had brought in about 10,000 North Korean soldiers to strengthen its lines.
Russia appeared to respond with the unprecedented use of an experimental hypersonic missile at Dnipro, called the Oreshnik, on November 21, pledging to continue testing the weapon.
While Russia has threatened to use nuclear weapons if cornered, the United States and its NATO allies have not. Three NATO members – the United States, France and Great Britain – have nuclear weapons.
NATO insists it “does not seek confrontation or pose a threat to Russia” and will “continue to respond to Russian threats and actions in a united and responsible manner.”
NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg did the same participation Earlier this year, the organization discussed preparing more nuclear weapons.
