Twelve British runs can be forbidden to host luminaires under radical new BHA sanctions.
The punishment will arrive if the tracks do not finish improvements in their weighing rooms by the new mandatory deadline.
Racenecourses in Great Britain are under pressure to improve their facilities for Jockeys after years of staying behind.
About 14 songs, including Leicester and York, have completed their upgrade work, while another 14 can be completed this year.
However, the BHA has threatened to come down hard on racing rourses that do not finish the work on time.
A statement from the administrative body of the sport that was published on Wednesday confirmed that around 12 tracks – which were not mentioned – have been established to end their upgrades by December 31, 2027.
The statement imposed the punishment for not completing time and said: “Racecourses that do not hang on the deadline of 31 December 2027 will not be allowed to organize a luminaire until the redevelopment is completed.”
Brant Dunshea, the acting Chief Executive Officer of the BHA, said: “Our Jockeys are top athletes and the facilities they use should reflect this.
“We understand the disappointment that the work lasted longer than expected, especially if Racecourses have completed their upgrades, the new layout works well and the feedback is very positive.
“The sturdy deadlines that we announce today are hopefully an important step forward.
“They are supported by clear regulatory action and directly linked to the license of a racecourse to keep luminaires.
“We hope that this action offers reassurance to Jockeys, Valets, civil servants and all others who are active in a weighing room on a racing day about our dedication to make the necessary improvements – and to do this as quickly as possible.”
