From “Life Was Like a Box of Chocolates…” to “You’re a Toy,” Tom Hanks has had several notable characters throughout his film career.
This is why fans were shocked when they heard the 66-year-old famous name tell People on Tuesday that only a select few films he has starred in are “pretty good”.
“No one knows how a movie is made, although everyone thinks it does,” he said while promoting his debut novel, “The Making of Another Major Motion Picture Masterpiece,” due out in May 2023.
“I’ve made a lot of movies, and four of them are pretty good I think, and I’m still amazed at how movies come together. From a flicker of an idea to the flickering image on the screen, the whole process is a miracle,” he added.
It didn’t take long for self-proclaimed movie critics to take their expertise to Twitter to share which Hanks movies they think are the best.
“Gump, Philadelphia, Castaway and Big?” another replied.
“Forrest Gump, Castaway, The Terminal and Green Mile. betting, “another” stated:.
“Gump, Private Ryan, green mile, and rejected,” another agreed.
“Toy Story, Toy Story 2, Toy Story 3, Forrest Gump,” said one user who excluded “Toy Story 4.”
“I think we can all agree that The Polar Express is in between. Definitely a movie for all ages,” an outlier named.
“What is a league of its own not called here?” another user early.

Professional critics have awarded six of Hanks’ films with a 100% score on the Tomatometer: “California Typewriter”, “Everything Is Copy”, “Return With Honor”, “Toy Story”, “Toy Story 2” and “Two Who Dared: The Sharp’s War.”
The Post has reached out to Hanks representatives for comment on the four films he thinks are “pretty good.”
