Two Plants You Can Add to Your Flower Bed to Repel Pests, According to a Gardening Pro
IF you have noticed small bite marks in your flower beds, it may help to add two plants.
A gardening expert revealed the simple tricks he uses to keep pests away.
In his viral videoTikTok user Marv (@geplantindetuin) shared his favorite ways to protect his plants.
He explained that he has an organic garden and therefore does not use chemicals to repel insects.
Instead, he has employed a number of DIY techniques to keep unwanted critters and rodents at bay.
One such measure is simply picking insects off the leaves of his plant before they can lay eggs, creating a ‘bigger problem’.

He also uses netting to individually cover the fruits and vegetables he grows and builds structures to cover his flower beds so rodents can’t snack on his plants.
Marv also recommended planting certain plants in your garden to keep insects away.
“Plants like herbs and onions are very good at repelling insects,” he said.
The experts of Pest Control in Bug House explained why onions are an effective repellent.
“The sulfur component in onions keeps insects away by producing an odor that insects dislike,” the researchers said.
Garlic is also an effective pest control agent and can even be used in place of chemical sprays.
“If you don’t have time to hand pick the bugs, you can use natural insecticides like onion and garlic and water spray,” Marv advises.
Bug House Pest Control also reported on the role garlic plays in repelling insects.
“Garlic, like onions, contains a sulfur compound that insects flee from,” they explained.
Marv also suggested using sticky traps in areas where you often see flies.
He added that flowers attract beneficial insects and thus help to repel unwanted insects.
