The Union Home Minister will deploy around 90 companies, which means more than 10,000 additional CAPF troops amid the violence and killings in Manipur.
While addressing a printer, Kuldiep SinghThe Manipur government’s security adviser said a meeting was held with Army, Police, CRPF, BSF and ITBP officials and the situation was being assessed.
“Today we had a security review meeting and during this meeting we reviewed the security of all districts and Imphal city. Army, police, CRPF, BSF and ITBP officials were present during the meeting. Whatever problems arise. , we are all together…’ said Singh.

“We have discussed the issues with DCs and SPs of all districts. By now you know that we are getting around 90 additional troop deployments in addition to the actual deployment here… 198 companies were here and another 70 companies are coming and a significant portion of them have already reached Imphal,” he added.
He also informed that so far 258 people have lost their lives since May last year, state government security advisor Kuldiep Singh said on Friday.

About the investigation, Kuldiep Singh said that these three cases are being investigated and have been transferred to NIA. NIA is now investigating the cases and will come up with further developments.

What’s happening in Manipur?


The new violence recently broke out in Manipur after the discovery of six bodies, including a 25-year-old woman and her two young children, a 31-year-old woman and her daughter, and a 60-year-old woman.
They were allegedly kidnapped by Kuki militants. The bodies have been sent to Silchar Medical College and Hospital in Assam for autopsy.
Protesters accused ministers and MLAs of failing to curb the escalating violence. They also opposed the reintroduction of AFSPA in several areas. Residences of BJP lawmakers including Rajkumar Imo Singh, Raghumani Singh and CM Biren Singh’s son-in-law Sapam Kunjakeswor were attacked. Independent MLA Sapam Nishikanta’s house was also targeted.
Protesters stormed the houses of Health Minister Sapam Ranjan and Consumer Affairs Minister L Susindro Singh in Imphal.
