Spain Perhaps one of the favorite summer holidays of the UK, but protests against tourists in leading hotspots such as Barcelona and Mallorca have postponed some British.
But while more than 18 million British tourists visited Spain in 2024, there are some regions that fall outside the spotlight.
So, where are British probably not against other tourists in 2025?
La Rioja
According to that of Spain National Institute of Statistics (Ine)La Rioja was the least visited region of the country in 2024.
The beautiful destination, known for its wine production, welcomed only 123,123 visitors last year.
La Rioja is a domestic region in North Spain and deserves much more attention than it has the tendency to get.

“However, this diverse region offers more than just the pleasures of the grape, and a few days here you can see it mixing in lively cities and quiet pilgrim churches, and even on the hunt for the remains of giant reptiles.”
Go to the Museo de la Rioja, a history museum in an 18th-century baroque building, for more information about the past of the region.
And of course make sure that you visit one of the more than 500 wineries in the region to taste one of the world -famous reds.
El Hierro and La Gomera

And Marek Bron, travel expert at the Indie traveler, said MailOnline Travel that La Gomera is the most underestimated of the Canary Islands
Although the Canary Islands are one of the busiest destinations in Spain, a few of the islands get much less attention.
According to Statista, both La Gomera and El Hierro only received 69,000 visitors in 2022.
And Marek Bron, travel expert at the Indie traveler, MailOnline Travel told that La Gomera is the most underestimated of the Canary Islands.
He said, “It has these very lush forests that feel like rainforests and they are great for walking.”
In the meantime, El Hierro is the smallest Canary Island with much less crowds than popular places such as Tenerife and Lanzarote.
Tourists can visit the beautiful hidden gem by taking a ferry or plane from Tenerife or Gran Canaria.
Marina Lucense

According to statistics of the Ine and Turespana, Mariña Lucense is the Spanish stretch of coast that is the least visited.
The breathtaking region is located on the northern Galician coast of Spain, where some of the least known beaches are in the country.
Although the weather can be guaranteed to be sunny, the beaches in Marina Lucense are much quieter than in the Costa del Sol or Costa Blanca.
Visit Spain explains: “The Lucense marina has approximately 100 km of coastline where you will find old whale ports and a variety of landscapes.”

Cabrera Maritime-Terrestrial National Park
