UP sacks Jhansi Medical College principal and suspends three others after fire tragedy
The Uttar Pradesh government on Wednesday removed Dr Narendra Singh Sengar from his post first name by Maharani Laxmibai Medical College in Jhansi for errors that led to a fire in the neonatal intensive care unit (NICU) that charred 10 babies on November 15. Three others including junior engineer (electrical) Sanjeet Kumar, charge nurse at NICU ward Sandhya Rai and superintendent Dr Sunita Rathore were suspended. The government also filed a complaint against Chief Medical Officer Dr Sachin Mahur and others for the alleged lapses.
