A 28-year-old woman from Vadodara who faced serious consequences mental and physical abuse by her husband for refusing his repeated requests for sex, was saved by Government of Gujarat Women HelplineAbhayam. Her husband locked her in a room and separated her from their daughter. According to Abhayam officials, the couple married five years ago, but tensions arose after just a few months and she moved back to her parents last year.However, when she discovered she was pregnant, her family brokered a reconciliation, after which she returned to live with her husband.
