Veteran ABC radio star confirms he has been fired from his weekend show in a ‘shock’ decision
Radio star Simon Marnie has confirmed he has been fired from his long-running weekend show.
Marnie shared the ‘shocking’ news on Instagram on Thursday morning that his time leading his NSW Weekend Mornings program has come to an end.
The announcement came as a shock to Marnie’s fans as he has worked for the national broadcaster for more than 25 years.
Marnie is a fan favorite on ABC’s Sydney weekend broadcasts, fronting the Saturday morning 6am to 12pm, as well as the Sunday show from 10am to 12pm.
He wrote on Instagram: ‘After about a week of speculation I can confirm that the ABC has looked at its weekend structure in 2025 and have informed me that they have no role for me in that structure.
‘This came as a shock and I am still processing what it means for me.
