From not being allowed to have sleepovers to not being allowed to have boyfriends, Zoey explained what was and wasn’t allowed when she was growing up.

The young woman, who left school at 13, also said that because she grew up in a travelling community, she was not allowed to have a phone or drink alcohol.

In addition, Zoey revealed that it is strictly forbidden to interact with people outside the community.

She told the camera, “We weren’t allowed to have a boyfriend until a future husband came to the door asking for us. Other than that, you weren’t allowed to have a boyfriend.”

Zoey also claimed that travelers are not allowed to smoke or drink until they are married

She concluded: “And we weren’t allowed to have sleepovers or anything like that, that was out of the question. That didn’t happen.”

But when she revealed these truths, she became the target of cruel trolls.

One of them wrote: “In prison you have more freedom.”

But Zoey, who posts under the name @zoey_ponresponded to this statement and shared another video of herself talking to the camera.

She said, “In the name of God, why should you have more freedom in prison?”

Zoey, who claims she’s “been to prison four times now,” compares the stark difference between life in a cell and her life as a traveler,

She said: ‘There can be four people in the cell with you, in two bunk beds, with a thin mattress and a small window that you can’t open, with cages around it.

“You are not allowed to have a telephone, you are not allowed to do anything in prison, you are not allowed to go outside the prison wall.

“Please tell me how you have more freedom in prison?

“What country are you from? Because I would like to know what kind of prisons there are.

“As I explained myself, I have been to prison four times now. But I would like to know what kind of prison you have been in.”

Facts about Gypsy and Traveller communities

Normally, the term Gypsies is used for the Roma people who migrated to Europe from India, while the term Traveller refers to a person of Irish, Scottish or English ancestry.

It is estimated that there are around 300,000 Gypsies, Roma and Irish Travellers living in the UK.

All three groups live nomadically, but as it becomes increasingly difficult to find land to live on, many are moving to permanent housing.

They value family life highly and often continue to live close to each other even after they grow up and get married.

Often it is the men who take care of the family, while the women stay at home.

While many English gypsy girls are allowed to drink alcohol and go on holiday with their girlfriends before they get married, this is not the case for their Irish gypsy girls.

Zoey previously revealed the strict rules she has for her caravan, explaining that she doesn’t allow dirty feet in her caravan.

This means that guests must wash their feet before entering.

She also claimed that eating and drinking in her house is forbidden, and that she doesn’t even cook at home.

Zoey indicated that she does this because she doesn’t want her house to get “dirty” and then have food smells linger.
