Vinted expert shares toy brand to watch out for after 50p teddy bear sells for £20
EVERY bargain hunter knows to look for Jellycat soft toys at thrift stores and flea markets.
But according to a professional reseller, there is another brand we should pay attention to.
Emily shares her best tips and tricks on her social media pages and has found great success scoring bargains and selling them on sites like Vinted.
At a recent flea market she bought a teddy bear for just 50p, and in a new video On TikTok she revealed she just sold it for an incredible £20.
“He’s a Charlie Bear,” Emily explained as she showed off the tag on the adorable toy.
Unfortunately, there was no tag around the bear’s neck that Charlie Bears are known for, so she did not get as much money as she could have gotten if the tag had come in one piece.

“But £20 is still a nice profit!” she smiled.
“So keep an eye on them.
“They really have wobbly heads.
“And they come in all different colors and sizes.
“Definitely something to watch out for.”
She also shared screenshots of other Charlie Bears that had been sold on eBay – for a whopping £475.
“Watch out for these bears! They could be worth a fortune!” Emily added in the video’s caption.
People were quick to comment on the video, including one woman who wrote, “I only found 4 that were tagged and complete.
“I sold them for £60.00 each and they sold within an hour of being put on the market.”
“Great find,” praised another.
“I am a big collector of Charlie Bears. I have seen them at flea markets, but not as cheap as this one!”
“I know I was incredibly lucky, he came in a box full of stuffed animals,” Emily replied.
Do I have to pay tax on items I sell on Vinted?
FAST tax facts from the Vinted team…
- The only time an item is taxable is if it sells for more than £6,000 and there is a profit (sells for more than you paid for it). Even then you can use your £3,000 tax-free capital gains allowance to offset it.
- Generally, only business sellers who trade for profit (buying goods with the intention of selling them for more than they paid for them) are required to pay tax. Business sellers who trade for profit can take advantage of a £1,000 tax-free allowance, which has been in place since 2017.

“I didn’t even know what it was when I got it. I just picked it up because it looked cute and expensive. I’m glad I did!”
Charlie Bears was founded in the UK in 2005 by Charlotte and William Morris.
Retail prices can range from £30 to £100, with limited edition toys often selling for more.
As an extra, the bears often have a hidden pocket somewhere, which sometimes contains a souvenir or a note.
