Vivo X200 series design, details and camera samples officially unveiled

Vivo is all set to launch several new smartphones in the coming week, with the launch date for the upcoming X200 series said to be October 14. With just over a week to go, a company executive now has not only the models launching at the event, but also their highlights and some specifications. The executive not only praised the company’s past performance with the Vivo X100 series, but also posted some camera samples to showcase the capabilities of the upcoming Vivo X200 series smartphones.

Vivo’s vice president and general manager of brand and product strategy, Jia Jingdong, has a after on Weibo reveals many details about the brand’s X200 series smartphones. For starters, he finally clarified that this year there will be a base X200 model, a top-end X200 Pro, and an X200 Pro Mini model (at least for the China launch).

Jingdong also posted a new set of official renders showing what each phone will look like. From this we can see that the Vivo X200 Pro will be available in 4 finishes (black, white, beige and blue), the Vivo finishes, including a pink option. All three models look similar, but vary in size.

The executive explained in the lengthy post that the Vivo X200 series will have an Apple iPhone 16 Pro-like 4K 120fps slow motion video recording mode. The new V3+ display chip also allows the devices to record Backlight Portrait video, a mode designed to deliver better video clarity and detail in strong backlight conditions. Part of this new camera experience is powered by Sony’s latest LYT-818 sensor, which can also deliver improved power efficiency.

The Vivo X200 phones are powered by MediaTek’s Dimensity 9400 SoC and run OriginOS 5 in China. There will also be some new AI features, including real-time on-device translation, one-sentence video editing, and real-time object recognition.
