IT is a memorable event for every parent.

So Vogue Williams did what any proud mother would do if her child were riding a bike without training wheels: she shared a video of it on social media.

But the Irish beauty soon faced criticism as people criticised the outfit she wore for her four-year-old daughter.

The TikTok clip Vogue showed a proud look as she gently helped her daughter steer at first, but then gave her a push and the little girl pedaled away confidently.

“I am so proud of my Gigibear,” Vogue captioned the video.

“I thought it would take a while, but she was so good at cycling!

“I think she figured out that you use less energy than when you walk!”

Vogue reported that it took them just “two days” to teach Gigi to ride without training wheels, and that her daughter is already “progressing rapidly.”

But the comments on the video were almost immediately filled with people criticizing the model for dressing her daughter in a tutu skirt for the outing.

It looked several times as if the full skirt would get stuck in one of the wheels.

“Practical outfit choice,” someone sarcastically commented on the clip.

“I hope that doesn’t get caught in the wheel!” said another.

“I’m afraid the tutu will get caught in the spokes…” admitted a third.

“Beautiful, but be careful the dress doesn’t get caught in the wheels,” wrote someone else.

“Sorry to be a party pooper but that dress could get caught in the wheels and cause an accident,” added another.

“Well done little one, getting on your own bike.”

Others insisted they saw no problem with the look and praised Gigi for wearing a unique outfit.

“Everyone was worried the dress would get caught, but it was clear she was doing fine,” one person wrote.

Safety Tips for Children Riding Bikes

  • Children must always wear a helmet during all cycling activities.
  • A helmet should sit on the head in a flat position, and should not wobble forward, backward, or from side to side. Helmet straps should always be buckled, but not too tight.
  • When children sit on the saddle of the bicycle, their feet should be able to touch the ground.
  • Before riding, check that the reflectors are properly secured, the brakes are working properly, the gears shift smoothly and the tires are properly secured and have the correct pressure.
  • Long or loose clothing can get caught in bicycle chains or wheel spokes. Dress young children appropriately to ensure a safe ride.

“Ahhhhhh, so beautiful!” added another.

“And I love a girl who dresses appropriately for activities!”

“What a great outfit you chose for such an important occasion!” commented a third.

While someone else praised: “And she has her own style too!”
