Want to try iOS 18 now? Here’s everything you need to know about the public beta
During Apple’s Worldwide Developers Conference in June, the company said that it iOS 18 for the general public this fall. But it has already released the iPhone update to developers and beta testers so they can try out all the new features, such as RCS messaging and customize home screen. We’ve put together this cheat sheet to help you learn about the latest features in iOS 18. This page will also help you stay up to date on upcoming iOS 18 updates, new features, and more.
Please note: iOS 18 is still in beta, so these features may be buggy or not work properly. We recommend downloading the beta on something other than your primary device. Since this is not the final version of iOS 18, the update may be buggy and your battery life may be short. It’s best to keep those issues on a secondary device. I downloaded the beta on my old iPhone XR to keep any bugs or issues away from my iPhone 14 Pro.
There could also be more features landing on your iPhone when iOS 18 comes out. Apple has said iOS 18 would be released to the public this fall, but there’s no firm date yet.

Keep in mind that iOS 18 is still in beta, so these features may be buggy or not work properly. There will likely be more beta builds before the OS is released to the public, so Apple has plenty of time to address any issues. There’s no word yet on when Apple will release iOS 18, but the company typically releases major iOS updates in September.
