War between Israel and Hezbollah: India expresses concern over the 'security situation' along the border with Lebanon
The central government expressed concern on Friday about the deteriorating situation along the coast Border between Israel and Lebanonsaying “inviolability of UN buildings must be respected by everyone.”
The government’s statement comes in the wake of reports that several people were injured after Israeli forces allegedly shot at the UN peacekeeping base in southern Israel. Lebanon.
‘We are concerned about the deteriorating security situation along the coast Blue line. We continue to monitor the situation closely. The sanctity of UN buildings must be respected by all and appropriate measures must be taken to ensure the security of the UN UN peacekeepers and the sanctity of their mandate,” the State Department said in a statement on Friday.
The United Nations Interim Force in Lebanon (UNIFIL) has increased its presence along the ‘Blue Line’, the border between Lebanon and Lebanon Israel.
A UN source told The Times Of Israel that “Israeli forces shot at a UNIFIL peacekeeping observation post at the main base in Naqoura in southern Lebanon earlier this morning, wounding two people.”
The United Nations Security Council (UN Security Council) was adopted in 2006 Resolution 1701 to end a month-long war between Israel and Hezbollah and improve security along the Israel-Lebanon border.
Despite nearly two decades of relative calm, the terms of the resolution have not yet been fully implemented.
The resolution aimed to force the Israeli forces to withdraw, leaving the Lebanese army and UN peacekeepers known as UNIFIL as the only forces south of Lebanon’s Litani River.

How much value does the resolution have now?

Transgressions along the border continue, with Israel accusing Hezbollah of maintaining a military presence and using a local environmental group to spy on its forces.
Lebanon has reported raids by Israeli fighter jets and naval vessels. The West’s efforts for a temporary ceasefire reflect that Resolution 1701 is still considered crucial.
However, since 2006, the situation has become more complicated due to Hezbollah’s involvement in regional conflicts and its significant military capabilities.
