Watch Donald Trump’s interview with the Daily Mail at Mar-a-Lago in its entirety

Donald Trump sat for a candid interview with DailyMail.com in the living room of his home and political headquarters at Mar-a-Lago.

He talked about everything from Kamala Harris dodging interviews to how he’s recovering from the shock of narrowly escaping an assassin’s bullet.

The Republican presidential candidate was relaxed, joking with his staff and exchanging golf tips with visitors between meetings.

But his answers did make news.

He used the interview to suggest that he might vote in favor of a Florida referendum to expand abortion access to six weeks after conception.

In the days that followed, anti-abortion activists expressed their horror at losing a key ally in their campaign.

And 48 hours later, Trump finally relented, saying that while six weeks might not seem long enough, he would still oppose the referendum measure.

He also announced that on day one of his presidency he will resume federal executions, which had been suspended under the Biden-Harris administration.

The sitdown came at a crucial moment in the election campaign.

Harris has seen a significant increase in fundraising and polling since she announced her candidacy for president over 81-year-old Joe Biden.

But Trump deflected questions about whether he was disappointed with his campaign or needed to shake things up.

“It’s been a great month,” he said. “I don’t understand that question.”
