FOR many, a beach holiday is an integral part of their vacation.
But one woman who decided to get her hair braided during her summer holiday regretted it because of the “terrible” pain.

Niamh took over TikTok to share a video of her getting her hair braided, while trying her best to hide her grimaces.
Above the video she wrote: “Well that was horrible!”
The clip showed a woman pulling Niamh’s brown hair back, using some sort of wax or cream to keep the loose strands under control.
Although Niamh looked like she enjoyed applying the cream, her mood changed once she started braiding.
“At least I got free botox on my forehead they’re that tight!” she added in the caption.
The sped-up video ended with Niamh’s final result: two tight French braids on either side of her head.
In the comments, Niamh added that the whole process took 10 minutes, but noted that the woman who did it was “so rough.”
Others admitted in the comments that they and their children were in tears after getting the braids.
“My daughter had it done 6 years ago at the age of 16 in Tenerife. She had tears in her eyes from the excitement,” someone wrote.
“My wife had these done years ago!…she was in pain all night and I couldn’t wait to take her back to have them removed,” added another.
To which Niamh replied, “People don’t know they’re alive.
“S**t showering and shaving. We have to suffer to keep our hair looking nice!”
“I almost cried when I had it done, never again!!” commented a third.

“When I got back to the hotel it was so painful I had to take them off, lol!”

Niamh replied: “I had my daughters cut last year. Their hair looked awful and they were in a lot of pain.”
“It’s like being tortured,” said someone else.
Others, however, were convinced that the tightening effect of the braids made the pain worth it.
“I had mine tightened, my god I looked 20 years younger, amazing!” wrote one person.
“I had this done in Turkey and it felt like I had a facelift,” added another.
“The pain is unreal – but it’s a free facelift!” laughed someone else.
“I would get it done to lift my face,” another insisted.
