Watch The Moment Mom Slams Daughter’s Wedding Dress – People Say She’s Jealous
The first time you try on your dream wedding dress is always a special moment, but not for one woman.
The bride-to-be’s excitement was dampened by her mother’s crude comments about her body.
Appear on a episode from Say Yes To The Dress, professional cheerleader Kari Pujadas was clear about the style she wanted.
She explained that she wanted something simple, but not too over the top.
However, her mother Jeanne went with her to the bridal shop and said she wanted to see her daughter in something that ’emphasized her figure’.
Bridal dress consultant Flo chose a lace look with a fitted and flared cut to match Kari’s antique theme.
“Okay, this is definitely the style,” Kari said as she put on the dress.
Flo, who helped her try on the dress before showing it to her family, said she was “in love” with the way the dress fit Kari.
“I like this one, this could be it, I really like it,” Kari said as she walked out of the dressing room to show off the look.
However, the bride-to-be was greeted with silence by her mother and sister as she posed in the dress.
When asked for comment, Jeanne said she found the look “boring.”
She added that she didn’t think the cut of the dress gave Kari a waist.
Jeanne then placed her hand on her daughter’s midriff and told her that it didn’t look flat in the dress.
Kari suggested that she wear a corset that day, but her mother was not too enthusiastic about it.
Lori, the bridal shop owner, couldn’t believe Jeanne’s reaction to the dress.
“I don’t like it, it doesn’t hide her belly,” she said. “I’m flabbergasted.”
Kari, who wanted her mother to love her wedding dress as much as she loved her sister’s, decided to say no to this style.
How to choose the perfect wedding dress?
Wedding season is in full swing, but when it comes to picking out the perfect dress, most brides-to-be are probably clueless.
Josie Griffiths, deputy editor of Fabulous Digital and bride-to-be, is getting married in August 2024 and has shared her top tips…
- Give yourself time – unless you are a sample size, dresses can take months to arrive. Don’t stress yourself out by looking too late, in my opinion, dress shopping should be second on your list, right after you find a venue.
- Visit multiple stores. You are not supposed to buy anything on your first visit.
- But not too many – just like an asshole who can’t stop swiping on Tinder, too much choice won’t help you find The One.
- Bring people with you – women who are honest but also supportive, unlike the mean family members in Say Yes To The Dress, and ideally people from different parts of your life who don’t automatically say the same thing. I went shopping with my mother and two best friends, who didn’t know each other and had different styles.
- Think again – I went back to the store before I made my final decision on the dress I chose and tried it on again with my second favorite just to make sure I was sure. It’s an expensive purchase and you can’t return it like you can with your next Asos order, so take some time to think about it.
YouTube users shared their thoughts on the interaction in the comments of the video.
“How awful of that mother to say that, to shame her daughter like that! Her daughter is BEAUTIFUL!” wrote one viewer.
“It’s amazing that this horrible woman created such a beautiful daughter. Her figure is flawless. What’s wrong with her?” asked another person.
“Not only is that mother jealous of her daughter, she’s also violent,” said a third subscriber.
“With that first dress, this mom was a textbook example of ‘projecting your own insecurities onto your daughter’. WOOF,” another YouTube user commented.
