Watch The Weeknd’s New Music Video, Shot Exclusively on iPhone 16 Pro
First announced during Monday’s Apple live event, on Friday Grammy Award-winning musician The Weeknd debuted the full-length video for his track “Dancing In The Flames,” which was shot entirely on the new iPhone 16 Pro. The video sees The Weeknd crashing a vintage red convertible while driving through a storm, and features a cool effect generated by the phone’s slo-mo 4K resolution setting at 120 frames per second.
Dancing in the Flames is the lead single from the singer’s sixth studio album, Hurry Up Tomorrow. The album has no release date yet, and the singer has hinted that it will be his last album. under the stage name The WeekndThe singer’s birth name is Abel Tesfaye.

“Shooting (in 4K resolution at 120 frames per second) really helped us slow down reality,” Eric Hendrickson, the video’s cinematographer, said in a video shared at the Apple event. “(It helped) slow down the elements, slow down the movement of The Weeknd. You didn’t have to think, ‘Oh, it’s just an iPhone.’ We just pushed it as far as we normally do, and got some really epic shots.”

The Weeknd Dancing In The Flames premiere in a one-off concert streamed live from São Paulo, Brazil on September 7. Billboard’s review said the new song “has the hallmarks of a hit from the first moment you hear it” and that the singer’s voice “soars over an indelible synth line, singing of an odyssey where ‘We’re dancing in the flames/ It’s indescribable.'”
This isn’t the first time The Weeknd has been involved with Apple products. In July, Apple announced that an immersive performance from the musician would be would come for the Apple Vision Pro headset.
Other music videos shot on iPhones include Olivia Rodrigo’s Get Him Back!, which was shot entirely on an iPhone 15 Pro Max in 2023, and Lady Gaga’s Stupid Love, which was shot on an iPhone 11 in 2020.
The new Apple phones can be pre-ordered from September 13 and will be available in stores from September 20.
