We brought home the wrong baby, but didn’t find out until five years later

A WOMAN has revealed how her life was turned upside down after her husband accused her of cheating when he realized their daughter was not biologically his.

But the woman, 29, insisted she has never cheated on her husband, who she has been dating since meeting at university, and never would.

The mother, who lives in the US, took to Reddit and explained that she initially thought the paternity test was flawed: “I never cheated, I would never cheat, and I don’t know why he took that stupid test because I would never cheat,” she said.

But it soon became clear that something much worse had happened.

It all started when her husband started acting ‘cold and suspicious’ seemingly out of nowhere.

He stayed in his office late into the night and even had distance with the couple’s five-year-old daughter.

Then he finally confessed that he took a paternity test after realizing that their daughter’s eyes are brown, but the mother’s eyes and his are blue, which while possible, is very rare.

After being confronted by her husband, the woman decided to take her own test in an attempt to prove her innocence.

“I told him again that I would never cheat and started talking about a list I made of tests I want to get done, but he told me he didn’t want to hear it right now,” she wrote on Reddit.

After sharing the original post, she updated Reddit users after taking the necessary test

“I ended up making a list of plans and tests I wanted done. My husband was (understandably) suspicious of me for a while, but he apologized for the way he acted (which I didn’t need) and said he wouldn’t try to kick me out of our house.

‘However, he did say that if every test came back and I had cheated, he would be ‘scorched’. Earth.'”

Both parents took a blood test and had an appointment with a chimerism specialist, which was canceled when the blood test results came back and they discovered that their daughter is not biologically one of them.

“I don’t know how this could happen, but a police officer came by our house and recorded our statements, and we are going to file a lawsuit against the hospital where I gave birth,” the woman alleged.

“I don’t know what happened to my baby, and it’s terrifying. I got my husband back, but my whole world was still turned upside down, and I wish he had never taken that stupid test.

“I have been sleeping in my daughter’s room and I am so scared that she will be taken from me, but at the same time I want to know where my biological daughter is and if she is okay. I pray to her God, she is okay her,” the woman added.

She explained that she still hasn’t told this to their five-year-old daughter to avoid a “major scandal.”

“I don’t want people who know us to look at her differently. She deserves better than that, she is such a good child and she is not a spectacle to stare at,” the mother wrote.

The mother said she plans to search for her daughter’s biological family, but admitted she has “no idea” what she will do if she actually finds them.

“I think the best scenario would be to get a bigger house and all live together, but I don’t know if we can afford that, if they would choose to do that, or even if we’ll be able to have a to find a house. or that I’m just crazy. This whole situation is crazy,” she said.

The man then updated the post with his take on the swirling situation.

He explained that he didn’t think the test would be negative, so he was shocked to discover that he is not his daughter’s biological father.

“I tried to find evidence of an affair, but failed. I got another test. When it also came back negative, I snapped. If you’ve ever been cheated on, you know what it feels like. When my wife denied it, I was still angrier, I just wanted her to go away,” he said.

He continued: “My child is really not biologically mine. I didn’t immediately think that switching at birth was an option.”
