We had a relationship like Play Bunnies – we were ‘replaced’ if we were ever sick
The Playboy brand and its founder Hugh Hefner are known all over the world, but in the 2000s the brand was iconic.
The mansion where Hugh lived with the Playboy Bunnies was even featured on E!, the same network as Keeping Up With the Kardashian girls.
The girls Next one The TV show Door aired for five years, from 2005 to 2010. Both Holly Madison and Bridgit Marquardt played roles in it.
Both women, now aged 44 and 50 respectively, looked back on the time they both dated the millionaire, in a recent episode of the Girls Next Level podcast.
Holly was in a relationship with him between 2001 and 2008, while Bridgit was in a relationship with him between 2002 and 2009.

Not so glamorous on the inside
One of Hugh Hefner’s former “girlfriends,” Izabella St. James, previously revealed the sordid realities of life at the Playboy Mansion in her 2006 memoir, Bunny Tales.
She wrote about the “mismatched” bedrooms, with “random furniture.”
“It was as if someone had gone to a thrift store and bought the basic supplies for every room,” she added.
Izabella claimed that the “mattresses on [the] The beds were disgustingly old, worn and stained,” and the sheets were described as “outdated.”
She also referred to a foul odor that hung in the mansion.
The book reported: “Everything in the mansion felt old and musty, and Archie, the family dog, regularly relieved himself on the curtains in the hallway, adding a strong odor of urine to the general smell of decay.”
“Hugh was very charming”
When asked why these young women were living in these alleged circumstances, Holly, who began dating Hugh at the age of 21, confessed: “I found him very charming.”
In an interview with Channel 4’s Secrets of Playboy, she added: “I think I was drawn to the spotlight because I felt like being famous would be a quicker way to connect with people.”
But she felt “trapped” by Hefner’s strict rules.
Holly recalls an incident where he went completely crazy when he tried to give her a shorter haircut.
“He yelled at me and said I looked old, hard and cheap,” she revealed.
Facts You Didn’t Know About the Playboy Mansion
Girlfriends vs. Playmates
Rumor has it that Hugh Hefner had two to a dozen “girlfriends” living with him at a time. These girlfriends are not to be confused with playmates. Each girlfriend had her own room, but one “special lady” was designated as girlfriend number one and stayed with Hef in his room. Each girlfriend received a bonus “allowance” of $1,000 per week.
Hef’s wild side
The Playboy mansion is home to a private zoo. It is one of the few private residences that actually has a zoo license. Hefner is a fan of birds, and they are everywhere on the property. There are lots of peacocks, macaws, flamingos, toucans, and ducks. The highlight is a cage that houses about 100 squirrel monkeys.
The Elvis Legend
Inside the mansion is a secret room called “The Elvis Room”. Legend has it that the king himself, Elvis Presley, held a small slumber party in the room with eight excited bunnies.
