We have sizes 10 and 18 – forget the viral jumper, £21 Primark purchase is a winter must
I’m sure we’re not alone in admitting that we’ve been popping into Primark more often than usual in a desperate bid to raise money. the viral jumper.
And although we are left empty-handed on that front, we are anything but disappointed.
Instead, we’re pretty sure we bought a £21 knitted jumper that’s even better than the sought-after £17 jumper.
As a 33-year-old small size 18 with large breasts, I often find it very difficult to dress for my figure – and find things in my size.
Meanwhile, my work friend Lynn, 44, is a nice size 10, who still finds herself trying to hide her mum tum.
So it’s safe to say that neither of us like anything too form-fitting – which means wrapping up the colder seasons in comfy knitwear is our absolute favorite time of year.
In an effort to offer our fellow AW24 fans some size-inclusive fashion inspiration, we’re testing the same outfits in different sizes from a range of high street favorites to see what works – and whether stores really do offer something for everyone to have.body‘.
And knowing how much our readers love a bargain, a Primark promotion was an absolute must.
We picked up some surprise hits, including a curve-friendly leopard print maxi skirt that cost just £14, and a pair of satin wide-leg trousers that had us shouting “comfort is life”.
But it wouldn’t have been a Primark trip if we hadn’t at least tried to find the oversized crew neck jumper that’s sending fashion fans into a frenzy.
You know the one: super soft, suits everyone and is sold out everywhere. Also in our Scottish stores.
And while that wasn’t the intention, we think we may have discovered the next big thing in knitting.
We wrapped the oversized knit bomber jacket, available in sizes XS to XL, in a vibrant red color.
Lynn chose a size small, while I chose a size large – and the sizing is generous.
And we were both blown away by the quality, with the super soft material far exceeding the £21 price tag.
It ticked all the boxes for us with a flattering fit, length and pockets.
If red isn’t your thing, the knitted bomber is also available in camel and anthracite.
Primark bosses describe the knitted bomber: “What do you get when you cross a cardigan with your favorite jacket?
“That may sound like a joke, but there’s nothing funny about this knitted bomber jacket!
“It has a baseball collar, long sleeves, ribbed cuffs and an oversized fit so you can throw it on over the thickest knits.
Thicker than the classic cardigan, available in a red shade that is perfect to brighten up your outfits and features a hidden front closure and two patch pockets.
“As a cozy layer all year round, check this intriguing style off your wish list!”

Why is Primark the place for bargains?
How does Primark do it? Continue to provide trendy items at such incredible prices? According to the bosses, it is still only four points.
- They “sell a lot of items” – Thanks to that they can save by buying in bulk for their 191 UK stores
- They “do very little advertising”
- Although their clothing offers the “latest trends”, they “do not use expensive hangers, tags or labels”.
- And finally, they try “to be as efficient as possible in transporting products from factories to stores.” This includes things like asking “suppliers to pack our T-shirts so they can be placed directly on the shelves.”
