We left Bournemouth and moved to Bulgaria – we got two houses and a shed for £7,000
A MAN has revealed he and his wife were fed up with living in Bournemouth so took the plunge and moved to Bulgaria.
Lewis claimed the couple bought a house they saw online without viewing it in person.
The house only cost them £7,000, but for this money they not only got a six-room house, but they also got an extra house and a huge barn for free.
Lewis, who lives with his partner Jordan and their two children, is keen to open up to their unique lifestyle. Lion and Fae took to social media to share more.
Lewis explained that the decision to leave their lives in Bournemouth was the ‘hardest decision’ they ever had to make at the time.
But they stepped out of their comfort zone and left their British lives behind for an off-grid village lifestyle in Bulgaria, which was recently hailed as ‘the perfect’ holiday destination for all the family.

The content creator, who claimed that the family has a five-year residency permit that they can renew when the time comes, lives on the abandoned land, in the middle of nowhere.
Lewis said online: “So about a year and a half ago we drove into this driveway after traveling 2,000 miles because we decided it would be a good idea to buy a house in Bulgaria for £7,000.
“We bought this house on the internet for £7,000 without even looking at it.”
Although the average house price in Britain varies hugely by region and month, in August 2024 the average house price in Britain was reported to be £292,924, up from £285,073 a year earlier, according to HM Land’s latest report. Register British house price index.
Not only were the family lucky with their cheap property, which was £285,924 less than the average house in Britain, but Lewis explained that the family were “quite lucky with the views” and also the huge garden.
Although it is currently a “messy” construction site, Lewis gave his followers a close-up view of their property, adding: “This is the house we bought and it came with another house and an incredibly large shed.
“All this garden space is ours – our garden continues as usual.”
Although the two-acre lot needs some work, Lewis explained that the property has six rooms: three bedrooms, a bathroom, a living room and a kitchen.
Not only this, but there is also space for two workshops and a shower room.
Big gap
The TikTok clip, which was posted under the username @frombournemouth2bulgariahas clearly left many with their mouths open as it has quickly racked up 972,600 views.
You can see why it’s £7,000
But many were divided over Lewis’s decision to leave Britain for the rural lifestyle.
One person said: “The problem is no matter how much you spend on it, it will never be worth anything, my friend did it.”
Moving hacks
1. Tidy up before you pack
Sort your stuff and get rid of everything you no longer need. Donate, sell or recycle items to lighten your burden.
2. Take an inventory
Make a list of all your items. This way you can keep track of everything and ensure that nothing is lost during the move.
3. Use quality packaging materials
Invest in sturdy boxes, bubble wrap and packing tape. This protects your belongings during the move.
4. Label everything
Clearly label each box with its contents and the room it belongs to. This makes unpacking a lot easier and clearer.
5. Pack a “First Day” box
Add essentials like toiletries, change of clothes, snacks and important documents. This way you avoid having to rummage through boxes on your first day.
6. Take pictures of the electronics installation
Take photos of the wiring before disconnecting your electronics. This makes it easier to reconnect everything in your new place.
7. Use suitcases for heavy items
Pack books and other heavy items in rolling suitcases. This makes them easier to transport and reduces the risk of injury.
8. Color code your boxes
Use different colored stickers or markers for each room. This allows movers to quickly determine where each box should go in your new home.
To this, Lewis replied: “It doesn’t matter, we’re not trying to sell it. It is our home.”
Another added: “You can see why it costs £7,000.”
I would like to do something like that
