We transformed our boring brown kitchen using cheap spray paint and tiles from B&M
A WOMAN shared how she transformed her kitchen on a budget using high street staples.
With the cost of living in the UK continuing to skyrocket, we’re all looking for budget-friendly options when it comes to furnishing our homes.
And Linda Louise had found the trick to decorate her boring kitchen.
“Our kitchen makeover was done on a budget. Spray paint, stick-on tiles and fablon,” she captioned the social media post.
The post showed what her kitchen looked like before the transformation, which saw her get old-fashioned dark brown wooden cabinets and a brown tiled kitchen floor.
The top of the countertops had the classic white speckled design, while the backsplash was made of boring cream-colored tiles.
But she soon got to work giving it a chic update.
The next click I saw her kitchen after the makeover and it looked nothing like her new kitchen.
With just three items, she managed to modernize it on budget with a black marble theme.
Linda mentioned that she used black plastic spray paint from The Range on the kitchen cabinets.
She stripped the paint to avoid getting all the paint everywhere and she also painted the woodwork and the oven fan with it.
Using Fablon vinyl panels, she covered the old countertops with a marble effect.
She then told me that she had created a modern back wall with gray rectangles using B&M adhesive tiles.
The post was a hit on the Facebook group, DIY on a Budget Officialwith over 250 likes.
People were quick to rave about Linda in the comments.

Four Cheap Home Renovation Tricks
YOU don’t have to spend a ton of money to give a room a new look. Here are five other home renovation tricks you can try.
Kitchen cabinets
One way to give your kitchen a complete transformation for less is to change the look of your kitchen cabinets. There are many different vinyl sidings to choose from, and it’s a quick and easy way to update your home.
Handles
Another thing you can try without spending a lot of money is to replace the handles. You can buy relatively cheap handles at hardware stores or even thrift stores. Adding new handles to your kitchen cabinets or doors in your home can be very effective.
Leftovers
Most of us have old, half-used cans of paint sitting around in the garage, but they’re often forgotten about. However, there could be enough in the can to paint an accent wall in another room, and you don’t have to spend a dime.
Free stuff
It’s worth checking your local Facebook Marketplace or Freecycle to see what other people are getting rid of. As they say, one man’s trash is another man’s treasure. And if someone is planning to redecorate a room, they might want to get rid of a sofa or coffee table that could be used to give a lounge a new look.
Another commented: “Looks beautiful, well done.”
“Wow, much better, well done,” wrote a third.
