A Footie-Mad family has been to every round of this year’s FA Cup and will be the final of today thanks to the sun.

Phil Hart, 46, and Sons Fin, Ten and Will, 13 – All Colchester United Seasonal card holders – A trip of 2,000 miles started by looking at the low local local team Cornard United defeated Fakenham.

They promised to support what the team won, they took in Stowmarket, Bishop’s Stortford, Braintree, Brackley and Stockport.

In the third round, Stockport lost Crystal Palaceand the family saw them beat Doncaster, MillwallFulham And Aston Villa around the Wembley confrontation with Manchester City.

After the sun was contacted FaTeacher Phil has insured three tickets for the big game.

Phil said: ‘I have seen my boys fall in love with football All over again. ”

Phil, from Great Horkesley, near Colchester, said: “As Colchester United Season Ticket holders I knew my sons and it is unlikely that our team will be the team Fa -Cup.

“So this year we decided to create our own way to Wembley with just one rule – we had to randomly choose a team and follow the winner, wherever that is and when the game was – all the way to the final.

“They were pure grassroots – dodgy refs, questionable chips, but brilliant football. We were addicted.

“We were on terraces in the rain at Braintree, Googled where Brackley was and standing in line for cakes in stockport.

“We cheered for unknown heroes and mourn clubs that we had met that day alone. The passion was real, raw and nicer than everything on TV.

Fin said: “It was really nice to visit new stadiums and meet some famous players.”
