NEW DELHI: Congress member Rahul Gandhi said the midterm election results have made it clear that the “web of fear and confusion” woven by the BJP has been broken. He said that farmers, youth, workersbusinessmen and workers want to destroy the dictatorship completely and stand side by side with the INDIA bloc “for the betterment of their lives and the protection of the Constitution. Long live India, long live the Constitution.”
Congress leader Mallikarjun Kharge called the by-elections evidence of “the declining political credibility of Prime Minister Modi and Amit Shah.”
AICC General Secretary KC Venugopal termed the result a “slam dunk” for the BJP and said the defectors’ defeat was a rejection of opportunism, “and a testament to the strong disapproval of the BJP’s pro-rich, dictatorial politics.”
