Weight loss medicines ruin the country’s dinner parties, according to a study among frustrated hosts.

An estimated 1.5 million British now use miracles such as Ozempic, Mounjaro or Wegovy. But new research suggests that it takes its toll on the traditional dinner parties of the country – and hosts are understandably not happy.

Almost three in ten (29 percent) British who recently thrown a soiree say they have been irritated because they have cooked a delicious meal, only for guests to push food around their plate.

A thunderous six in then believes that the right etiquette is to call ahead or SMS to let people know if you are using weight loss medicines, so that hosts can change the menu accordingly.

The survey, of 2,000 frequent dinergastherers and attendees, found lighter options, such as a small shrimp cocktail (21 percent) melon and prosciutto (15 percent), fish soup (13 percent) or a small filet steak with a few simple greens (18 percent) are the most suitable ozempian dinner parties.

While 14 percent of the hosts say that a sorbet makes a good choice for pudding, and to start starters, instead of starters, some crudités and dips (14 percent)

Of those in the drugs, no less than 80 percent agree, they now find the social side of food and drink uncomfortable.

Almost half (47 percent) say that they have completely ruined their enjoyment of dinner parties.

Almost a quarter (22 percent) insulted a host by unable to eat the food they had prepared, while one in ten even has hidden food in a napkin in someone’s house to prevent shame.

And it is not just food that is spoiled, with 18 percent who say they can no longer enjoy beautiful wine or cocktails.

Jion Horsley, from Trends and Insights Agency Perspectus Global, who carried out the survey, said: “Weight loss medicines can be the remedy for obesity that we have been looking for for decades.”

‘But we are still in the early days of their use and they will have wrinkle effects that we will not be aware yet.

‘The fact that its use of it can make social food difficult is only one unforeseen effect.

“This research proves that shared meals can become more uncomfortable until we work beyond social difficulties, adjust our menus and the etiquette around the subject.”
