There’s nothing worse than getting sunburned on a city trip, so I dress head to toe in light, cool fabrics that drape over my body rather than clinging to it.
Meet the pajama suit: controversial, yes, but also cool, easy to wear, and beloved by celebrities like SJP, Beyonce, and Blake Lively.
And the best thing about pajamas is that you can transform them from a day outfit to an evening outfit in no time at all if you wear a pair of strappy heels underneath. Ideal for a weekend away with only hand luggage.
I have added Uniqlo’s Viral Crossbody Bag (I already have it in three colors), because then I don’t have to search for my passport, comfortable slippers and striking sunglasses.

I love a bargain, especially for a special occasion. As a result, you can buy a head-to-toe outfit for a night out for under £100.
By taking one basic item and building your outfit around it, you can easily create a look.
This dress from Zara can be worn in different ways. With the flower bow around your waist, as shown here, or around your neck. I love dresses that have different options.
I let the dress do the talking, especially since it’s the most expensive piece of the outfit. I kept all my accessories gold and simple.
These shoes from Primark are a steal at just £13. And if you’re looking for some cheap jewellery, New Look has some great options, like this ring for just £2.99.

This George at Asda combo set is almost identical to the set I bought at Zara last summer, but for a much more affordable price.
It is made of a lightweight material and features an embroidered floral pattern that is timeless.
Here I’ve styled it with gold heels and a pearl bag (which you’d never guess is from Primark) for an evening look that’s perfect for the festive season.
This combo set is incredibly versatile though. I’ve worn it to summer BBQs, worn the shorts over a bikini on the beach and paired the shirt with jeans on cooler days.
It really is a product that offers great value for money.

We spend a lot of time at work, but nobody wants to spend a lot of money on work clothes.
I am fortunate that I do not have to wear a uniform and can therefore choose what I wear to the office, so my work clothes are also versatile enough for other occasions.
Take this bag, it’s big enough for my laptop and some other small stuff that I need to pick up at the supermarket on the way home.
Plus, it’s a dupe for Coach’s £495 Brooklyn bag, which Bella Hadid loves so much.
To brave the humid weather, I’m wearing this white poplin skirt from H&M with this light sweater from Tu at Sainsbury’s. And that helps with the cold air conditioning in the office!
Finish it off with silver accessories, like these expensive pumps from George and timeless black sunglasses, and I’m ready to go.
And I have some money left for my morning coffee – win!
Is supermarket fashion the new high street?
DEPUTY Fashion Editor Abby McHale says:
Supermarkets have really upped their game when it comes to their fashion lines. These days, when you pop in to do your weekly shop, you can also pick up a selection of wallet-friendly, stylish items for the whole family.
Tesco has just announced a 0.7 percent rise in the quarter thanks to ‘strong growth in clothing’ and M&S has earned the title of the number one destination for womenswear on the high street.
Asda’s George clothing line earned the supermarket £1.5m in 2023, 80 per cent of clothes at Sainsbury’s were sold at full price rather than discounted, and sales of Nutmeg at Morrisons have also risen by 2 per cent over the past year.
How is it that supermarket fashion is so successful?
The clothing is not only affordable but also of good quality, and much of the clothing is part of programs such as the Better Cotton Initiative.
They often stick to classic pieces that they know will last for years.
And because they buy so much stock, they can deliver quickly and the volumes are cheaper.
