‘We’re going to Lidl!’ say parents as a happy mother shows off her new mud kitchen
PARENTS are rushing to Lidl after a mum managed to get her little one a mud kitchen for just £20.
The woman went to the Extreme Couponing and Bargains UK group on Facebook to share the epic buy, which is currently fetching up to £100 on online sales site eBay.
“£20 Lidl bargain! Mud kitchen,” she captioned the photo.
“I just bought this today (July 13th) from the Lincoln store. It was on sale and I was keen to get rid of it.
“I don’t really shop at Lidl, so I don’t know if there were regular offers or not. So I was very happy when I found this bargain for our daughter’s birthday!
“I had to ask how much it cost, because there was no price on it.”
According to the product description, the mud kitchen has two shelves and a tray, as well as a dry-erase board and chalk.
It also features a water bucket with tap, two removable plastic sinks, two hotplates with temperature knobs with clicking sounds, four decorative flower pots, three wooden hooks and a towel holder.
In addition, three garden tools are included: a fork and a large and small trowel.
And other parents were quick to comment that they had to plan a trip to Lidl in the hope of finding the mud kitchen.
“Tomorrow we’re going to have a look at Lidl!” someone wrote.
“Fancy Lidl tomorrow?” said another, tagging a friend.
“My son got this for his birthday and he loves it!” added a third, but noted they “paid £49.99 for it”.
“OMG I want one for my daughter too,” said someone else.
“Half the price I paid!” revealed another.
“And great quality too,” added someone else.
“I’ll have a look at Lidl tomorrow,” said another.
Why do Aldi and Lidl have such fast checkouts?
IF you have ever shopped at Aldi or Lidl, you have probably experienced the super-fast checkout staff.
Aldi’s reputation as a fast supermarket is not without reason. The supermarket chain even claims that its checkouts are 40 percent faster than those of competitors.
It’s all part of Aldi’s plan to be as efficient as possible, which, the budget retailer claims, helps keep costs down for customers.
Efficient barcodes on packaging allow employees to scan items as quickly as possible. Most products have multiple barcodes to speed up the process.
Shelf-ready packaging is also used, keeping replenishment costs low.
As someone else wrote: “Oh my god I want one for the kids”.
But another warned: “My daughter had this a few years ago.
“If you get this, I would recommend treating or covering the wood as the wood warps quite quickly.”
Lidl regularly has great deals for kids, and savvy parents recently rushed to their local store to buy a discounted school uniform.
